A Gift Card Holder for You!

I participated in another swap not that long ago. This one was for Gift Card holders. So here is the first one that I made. I’ve seen one similar to this somewhere, but I don’t remember where. But here it is with a tutorial!

  • Stamps: Bring on the Cake, Betsy’s Blossoms
  • DSP: Comfort Café
  • Card Stock: Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Pool Party
  • Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo
  • Accessories: 1” Circle Punch, 1-1/4” Circle Punch, Rhinestones, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive

This was a fun gift card holder to make. When you open it up the gift card just pops up and there is room to write a message.

1. To start off I cut a piece of Summer Starfruit card stock 4-1/4” x 5-1/4”. With the 5-1/4” side against the top of your Simply Scored, score at 2-5/8”. Fold on the score line.

2. Next cut a piece of Summer Starfruit card stock 4” x 6-1/2”. With the 6-1/2” side against the top of your Simply Scored, score at 2-1/2”, 3-1/2”, 4”. Fold it in half. Use the Word Window punch and position the punch so that it is half-way over the fold of the card stock and the card stock lines up with the outside of the punch. Repeat on the other side to cut out one long window.

3. Fold the card stock on the score lines accordion-style so that it looks like a W. Use Multipurpose Liquid glue just on the larger flaps and adhere the flaps inside the folded piece from Step 1. Now you can insert your gift card into the slot that you made with the Word Window punch.

4. To decorate the front I cut a piece of Comfort Café DSP 2-1/8” x 3-7/8” and adhered it onto a 2-1/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White card stock. This layer was adhered onto the front of the gift card holder.

5. Now for the belly band. Cut a piece of Pool Party card stock 3/4” x 6”. With the 6” side against the top of your Simply Scored, score at 1-5/8” and 4-3/8”. Fold on the score lines. Wrap the strip around the middle of the gift card holder and adhered one end of the strip on top of the other end with just a tiny bit of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

6. Stamp the large flower from Betsy’s Blossoms in Pool Party ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock. Stamp the greeting from Bring on the Cake into the center of the flower in Island Indigo ink. Punch out the greeting with the 1” Circle punch. Use the 1-1/4” Circle punch on a scrap of Summer Starfruit card stock. Adhere the stamped circle on top of the Summer Starfruit circle. Adhere the greeting onto the belly band with a Stampin’ Dimensional. For just a little bit of bling add one large Rhinestone onto the belly band on either side of the greeting.

This is a super cute way to present a gift card to someone special!
