Hello everyone! Here are the two final projects for the August edition of Craft Project Central!

Fancy Box and Card:

This interesting project was created by Kim! If you have a chance please head on over to Craft Project Central and leave Kim a comment on her project!

Twitterpated Portfolio and Card Set:
This pretty portfolio filled with cards, envelopes, and separate sentiments is a great gift.  The card sentiments (for various occasions) are kept in a little drawer inside the portfolio and can be quickly added to a card when you need one.  Instructions include variations on how the little drawer can be used if you choose to put the sentiments on the cards as you make them and don’t need the drawer for the sentiments. This project makes a great teacher gift and is a fun class, club or camp project!

Everything Eleanor

When I first saw the catalog I absolutely loved the Everything Eleanore stamp set! So of course I had to use it at the first Make and Take possible. This is the last card that we made at the July Make and Take.

  • Stamps: Everything Eleanore, Lovely and Lacy
  • Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Tempting Turquoise
  • Accessories: XL Oval Punch, Paper Snips, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pearls, Two Way glue Pen

I started off this card by cutting a piece of Whisper White card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. Next I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 3-5/8” x 4-7/8”. I stamped the swirl from Everything Eleanore in Tempting Turquoise ink all over the Whisper White card stock.  I adhered this onto a 3-3/4” x 5” piece of Basic Black card stock. Then I adhered this panel onto the card front.

I wanted to add some texture to the bottom, so I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock 2” x 4-7/8” and ran it through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan embossing folder and adhered it onto the bottom of the stamped Whisper White panel. You can see that my cutting wasn’t exactly perfect, because I had to center the textured card stock on the White instead of it going all the way across.

I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch on a scrap of Tempting Turquoise card stock and trimmed it to 4-7/8” long before adhering it onto the card front with 2-Way Glue Pen to cover the edge of the Basic Black card stock.

Then I stamped the greeting from Lovely and Lacy onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Black Stazon ink. I punched out the greeting with the XL Oval Punch and adhered the oval into the center of the card with a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the flower from Everything Eleanore onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock, cut it out with Paper Snips, and adhered the flower onto the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Just to give the card a little bit of sparkle I added a Pearl into the center of the flower.

I really love the black and white with the pop of color!

Christmas in July

Well, it’s August now, but this was one of the cards from the July Make and Take. Each year from July through December I make sure to have at least one Christmas card for the Make and Takes. This makes it so that my guests either already have their Christmas cards made when Christmas comes, or they have great ideas to use for making their Christmas cards. This one looks so elegant and complicated, but it really was fast and easy. This would be a great one to mass-produce if you have a lot of Christmas cards to send out!

  • Stamps: Christmas Lodge
  • Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Vellum
  • Ink: Garden Green, Versamark
  • Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Paper Piercer, Stamin’ Pierce mat, Gold Brads, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I started off by cutting a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scoring it at 4-1/4”. I ran the card front through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips embossing folder. Next I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock 3-1/8” x 4-3/8” and stamped the tree from Christmas Lodge onto the card stock in Garden Green ink.

Then I cut a piece of Vellum card stock 2-3/4” x 4”. I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over the bottom portion of the vellum then stamped the greeting from Christmas Lodge onto the vellum in Versamark ink. I covered the stamped image with Gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and heated it with the Heat Tool.

Once the embossing powder had cooled I placed it on top of the Very Vanilla card stock on my Stampin’ Pierce mat and pierced a hole in all four corners of the Vellum. I used a Gold Brad in each hole to hold the Vellum onto the card stock. Then I adhered the panel onto the card front in the center of the embossed frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s all there is to it! Do you like to make your own Christmas Cards? Do you make a bunch of one style, or make a bunch of different ones?

It's a Circus!

It’s Circle Circus that is! This stamp set has been in the catalog for quite some time, and I always wanted it, but didn’t get it until recently. I’ve only used it once before, so I just had to play with it more! That led to this really fun and playful birthday card which was the second card at the July Make and Take!

  • Stamps: Circle Circus, Friendly Phrases
  • Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Whisper White
  • Ink: Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

I started off with a piece of Sahara Sand card stock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored it at 5-1/2”. Then I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4-1/4” x 3-1/2”. I stamped the images from Circle Circus in both Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey ink. My Basic Grey ink pad was running low on ink when I made my sample, which is why the grey circles are so light. You can achieve the same effect by inking the stamp, stamping onto a scrap piece of paper, then stamping on your card stock.  After I had all the circles I wanted I adhered the card stock onto the bottom of my card front.

Next I cut a piece of Basic Grey card stock 3/4” x 4-1/4” and adhered it on top of the edge of the Whisper White card stock. I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases onto the top of the card front in Basic Black ink. To finish it off I wrapped a piece of Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon around the card front and tied it into a knot.

That’s it! Super easy, super fast, and super cute! Even though it has more subtle colors it just seems so cheerful and fun. What do you think?

Reason to Smile!

Today I have to share with you the first card from the July Make and Take. During July the Reason to Smile promotion was going on where you could get the stamp set for just $5.00 if you ordered $50 or more in merchandise. Well, I definitely wanted to show this stamp set off to my guests, so I created this card.

  • Stamps: Reason to Smile, Just Believe
  • Card Stock: Whisper White, Pool Party, Crumb Cake
  • DSP: International Bazaar
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Pool Party, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Re-inker, Lucky Limeade Marker, Glue Dots, Whisper White Stitched grosgrain ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Blender Pen.

I started off by cutting a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scoring it at 4-1/4”. I stamped the blossom image onto the Crumb Cake card front several times in Crumb Cake ink. This just gives it a subtle pattern to the background. Next I cut a piece of International Bazaar DSP 2-1/4” x 4-1/4”. I adhered this onto a piece of Pool Party card stock that was 2-1/2” x 4-1/4” and adhered the panel onto the right side of the card front.

For the image panel I started off with a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 2-1/4” x 3-1/2”. I stamped the flower with the stem twice onto the card stock with Black Stazon ink. I used the Lucky Limeade marker to color in the flower stems. Then I used my Blender Pen with a little bit of Rich Razzleberry Re-inker to color in the flower blossoms. You really only need a teeny tiny bit of re-inker on your blender pen to color this in!

I stamped the greeting from Just Believe onto the left side of the card stock in Pool Party ink. Then I adhered this panel onto a 2-1/2” x 3-3/4” piece of Pool Party card stock. This panel was adhered onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off I tied a bow in some Whisper White stitched grosgrain ribbon and adhered the bow onto the image panel with a Glue Dot.

When I finished this card I did a little happy dance! It turned out just the way I imagined it, and it looks amazing! Everyone at the make and take loved it too!

Have you made anything with the Reason to Smile set?

Wish Big

Today I’m going to share with you the second card that I made with the SCCSC131 sketch challenge. If you missed the first card take a look HERE.

  • Stamps: Word Play
  • Card Stock: Summer Starfruit, Pool Party
  • DSP: Midnight Muse
  • Ink: Midnight Muse
  • Accessories: Silver Glimmer Paper, Rhinestone

This was another fast and easy card to put together. I started off with a piece of Summer Starfruit card stock that was cut 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4”. For this one I cut a piece of Pool Party card stock 1-3/4” x 3-1/8” and one piece 1-3/4” x 1-1/8”. Then I cut a piece of Midnight Muse DSP 1-3/4” x 3” and a piece 1-3/4” x 1”. I adhered the Midnight muse DSP onto the Pool Party card stock, then adhered these panels onto the card front.

I stamped the greeting from Word Play onto the card front between the strips in Midnight Muse ink. Then I took a scrap strip of Silver Glimmer Paper (I never throw any of this stuff away) that was probably 1/4” wide and adhered it onto the card front. Then just to bring some glimmer up to the greeting I added a small Rhinestone into the center of the star on the greeting.

I think this is such a fun card, and great for a guy too! What do you think?

Turquoise Thank You Friday Mashup 73

Hello everyone! It’s Friday again! Are you ready for another Friday Mashup challenge? This one was kind of tough for me, but take a look at the card I made.

  • Stamps: Sassy Salutations, Distressed Dots
  • Card Stock: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Whisper White
  • DSP: Midnight Muse
  • Ink: Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise
  • Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Paper Piercer, Stampin’ Pierce Mat, Brights Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Champagne Glimmer Paper

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project with the colors "Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise & Soft Suede".
  2. Or Make a "Thank You" project .
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You project w/ the colors Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise & Soft Suede".

I started off by cutting a piece of Soft Suede card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. I stamped the Distressed Dots background stamp onto the card front in Soft Suede ink to get those wonderful polka dots.

Next I cut one strip of So Saffron 1” x 2-1/2” and then two strips of So Saffron and four strips of Midnight Muse striped DSP 3/4” x 2-1/2”. I adhered the stripes onto the card base starting with the sides and working my way in. The center panel was a little bit larger than it needed to be, but you can’t really tell now that it is glued in place.

I cut a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper 1/2” x 5-1/2” and adhered it on top of the edge of the stripes to cover up some slightly un-even edges. I really like what the Champagne glimmer paper adds to this!

Finally I stamped the greeting from Sassy Salutations onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Tempting Turquoise ink. I cut out the greeting with the Apothecary Accents framelits and my Big Shot. I used a Paper Piercer and Stampin’ Pierce mat to pierce a hole in each end of the label and added a turquoise brad in each. The label was adhered into the center of the card front with a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it! I hope you get a chance to join in on the fun over at the Friday Mashup! Swing by there to see what the other fabulous creations that the design team came up with!

Birthday Wishes

I have a sketch challenge card to share with you today! This card was quick and easy! Take a look:

  • Stamps: Woodgrain, Bring on the Cake
  • Card Stock: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
  • DSP: International Bazaar
  • Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
  • Accessories: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Silver Glimmer paper, 2-Way Glue Pen

Here is the sketch that was created by Susie Nelson:

I started on this card by cutting a piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. I stamped the card front with the Woodgrain background stamp in Wisteria Wonder ink. Next I cut one piece of International Bazaar DSP 1-1/2” x 3” and one piece 1-1/2” x 1”. I adhered the DSP onto the card front so that one of the short sides was up against the edge of the card. I didn’t like just the DSP on the card front so I cut two strips of Elegant Eggplant 1/4” x 3” and two pieces 1/4” x 1” and adhered the strips onto either side of the DSP with my handy dandy 2-Way Glue Pen.

I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake between the strips of DSP in Elegant Eggplant ink. Then I took a scrap of Silver Glimmer Paper and punched the edge with the Scalloped Edge Border punch and adhered it onto the card front.

Simply, pretty, and sparkly! This kind of layout is really out of my usual style, but I had so much fun with it that I made another card using this sketch! Come back tomorrow to see it!

Green and Gold Necklace

Here is the second necklace and earring set that I made my Mom for her birthday. This one features a light and dark green, with pearly pink beads, and gold colored chain.

I know typically odd numbers of items look better, but I just thought that two chains with the bead chain were too much. I preferred just having the two strands.

What are your thoughts? Do you like the green, pink, and gold color combo?

Amber Necklace for Mom

My Mom’s birthday was back in the beginning of July. I wanted to make her something special, but was running out of time. So I put together two necklace and earring sets for her. Today I’ll share the first one and tomorrow I will share the second. This is definitely my favorite of the two though.

The amber pendant is made of resin and I did some very simple wire wrapping to add a swirl to the gold colored wire. The smoky jewels were a nice addition with the amber and gold beads with the gold colored wire.

I’m thinking about making more time for making jewelry and putting some of it for sale in my Etsy shop. I’ll certainly let you know when I do!

I like that it’s simple and shows off the beads. What do you think?

Birthday Headbands

About a month ago I need a birthday present for someone special. So I decided to decorate a couple headbands.

This first one is a combination of ivory material and ivory lace with gold beads in the center on a black headband. I think this one was my favorite because of the contrast in the colors and the texture the lace added.

The second was in some purple cotton material. I don’t remember what color the headband was originally, but I wrapped a strip of fabric around the head band and then made a matching flower to attach to it. The flower was full enough that it didn’t need anything else added to it.

For the last one I found a pretty metal headband with the rhinestone flower, but the person I wanted to give it to has a nickel allergy. So to be safe I wrapped the headband portion in black satin ribbon. I like the texture the wrapped ribbon added to the headband.

If you’re interested in getting one of the first or second headband then send me an e-mail. I still have plenty of material to make more!

Which is your favorite?
