Snowflake Stocking / Noel

Good morning! I've got two cards for you today. They are even really similar. These cards were created for another sketch challenge. Take a peek:

Stamps: Stitched Stockings
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink: Pear Pizzaz
Accessories: Stocking Punch, Snowflake Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Two-Way Glue Pen, Simply Score, Stampin' Dimensionals. Needle Tool, Mat Pack, Glimmer Brad

Stamps: Warmest of Wishes
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals

For both of these cards the card base is Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11" with a 5 1/2" score. Now for the tricky part. I started off with a piece of Very Vanilla and a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I placed one of the pieces of cardstock onto the simply score and lightly scored from corner to corner to create a scored X on the cardstock. I repeated this with the other piece of cardstock. Then I took the cardstock to the paper trimmer and trimmed first from one corner diagonally across to the other corner. Then I took one of the triangle halves and put it back on the paper trimmer. This time I cut on the remaining score line. Repeat with the other half. Then I simply repeated the cutting with the other piece of cardstock. This gives me eight triangles, 4 in Very Vanilla and 4 in Cherry Cobbler.

Then I cut two different patterns of Holly Berry Bouquet DSP to 3 3/4" x 5". I repeated the scoring and cutting steps with the DSP to get eight patterned paper triangles. Now for some assembly. I adhered all of one pattern of DSP to the Very Vanilla triangles and all of the other pattern of DSP to the  Cherry Cobbler triangles. Starting with the top and bottom triangles I adhered the triangles to the card front to form a rectangle. I just made sure to alternate the pattern of paper when applying the triangles.

I hope this makes sense. Please feel free to ask questions if it doesn't.

Okay now that the hard part is done it's time to add some decoration by creating that middle panel. In case you haven't noticed, I've really been loving the Red and Silver Glimmer paper. It is so wonderful! It makes it really easy to add some sparkle to a card!

For both cards I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 1 7/8" x 2 7/8" and adhered it to a 2" x 3" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Two strips of Cherry Cobbler cardstock were cut at 3" x 1" and one side was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. This was adhered behind the top and bottom of the Crumb Cake cardstock. This step was repeated to complete the panel on the second card.

Now here is where the cards really differ. For the first one I stamped the stocking from Stitched Stockings in Pear Pizzaz ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Stocking Punch. I also punched out the top, heel, and toe of the stocking from Silver Glimmer paper and adhered the pieces to the stocking using a Two-Way Glue Pen. The stocking was adhered to the Very Vanilla panel.

A snowflake was punched from Red Glimmer Paper using the Snowflake Punch. Then a Needle Tool and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole through the center of the snowflake and the Very Vanilla panel and a red Glimmer Brad was added. The Very Vanilla panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the second card I used a simpler decoration. I stamped the image from Warmest of Wishes in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I also punched a decorative label from Red Glimmer Paper. The glimmer paper label was cut in half length-wise, the points in the short sides trimmed off, and adhered behind the stamped label to create a very sparkly mat. For this I used Tombow Mutli-Purpose adhesive. The label was adhered to Very Vanilla panel with Stampin' Dimensionals and the panel was adhered to the card front with more Stampin' Dimensionals.

These cards were based off of this sketch created by yours truly:

Plaid Christmas Tree

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a great day! Lately I’ve been catching up on some sketch challenges on Stampin’ Connection. Here is the first one.

Stamps: Snow Much Fun, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Season of Friendship
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla,
DSP: Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper, Red Glimmer Paper, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Real Red, Crumb Cake, Stazon
Markers: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Aqua Painter, White Craft Re-Inker, White Gel Pen, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Scalloped Oval Frame Die, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dazzling Details

Here is the sketch that was created by Susie Nelson:

This card has lots and lots of sparkle to it and I love it! The card base is Chocolate Chip cardstock that was cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and was scored at 4 ¼”. A piece of Frostwood Lodge DSP was cut at 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”. This was adhered to a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and this panel was then adhered to the card front.

Two strips of silver glimmer paper and two strips of red glimmer paper were cut at ¼” x 5 ½” and were adhered to the card front. First I adhered the vertical silver strip, then the horizontal silver strip. Then I adhered the vertical red strip and finally adhered the horizontal red strip by lifting up the vertical silver strip and sliding the glimmer paper underneath the silver and adhering it in place.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and was run through the big shot in the Scallop Oval Frame Die. I set aside the scalloped frame and just used the oval inside portion. The tree from Snow Much Fun was stamped in the center of the oval in Stazon ink. Then the snowflake from Season of Friendship was stamped several times in Crumb Cake ink.

Then I put a drop of Whisper White Craft Re-Inker into some form of plastic container. I used a piece of packaging that was intended for the trash can. I used the Aquapainter to pick up the ink and paint it onto the bottom of the oval to create a snowy ground underneath the tree. While the craft ink is slowly drying I carefully colored in the tree and bird with the markers. For the tree branches I colored the entire thing in Pear Pizzaz marker, then added Always Artichoke to the shadow areas, then colored over the entire thing again with the Pear Pizzaz marker to blend the colors together better. The trunk of the tree was colored first in Crumb Cake and then Chocolate Chip shadow lines were added. The bird was colored in with Real Red and Cherry Cobbler was used for the shadows. Then I used the White Gel Pen to color in the ornaments that are hanging on the tree. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the oval to the card front.

The greeting from Teeny Tiny wishes was stamped in Real Red ink on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and was punched out with the Word Window punch. The Modern Label punch was used on a scrap of Chocolate Chip cardstock. The word window with the greeting was adhered to the Chocolate Chip Modern Label. Then the label was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. One dimensional on the side that adheres to the stamped oval and two dimensionals stacked on the side that adheres to the DSP.

Finally I used the Dazzling Details glitter glue to add some sparkle to the snow mounds under the tree and the ornaments on the tree.

I had so much fun with this sketch! The plaid works so well with the woven strips the decorate the left side of the card.

Lovely Limeade Birthday

Good evening! I thought I would squeeze in another post today to share with you a card that I created for the SCCSC81 sketch challenge on Stampin' Connection. Take a peek:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
DSP: Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Stazon, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponge

Here is the sketch that was created by yours truly:

The card base is Lucky Limeade cardstock that was cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". A piece of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" and was adhered to a 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock before being adhered to the card front.

Next I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 3 1/4" x 3". This will be used to create your panels. the 3" sides are the top and bottom. Make sure you sponge and stamp with a 3" long side at the top. I hope this makes sense. I sponged the top half of the cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink using a Stmapin' Sponge that was cut into wedges. I always sponge using a swirling motion starting from the outside edge working inward. Then I sponged Peach Parfait ink making sure not to cover the Daffodil Delight ink entirely. Finally I sponged Cajun Craze ink, again, making sure that I didn't entirely cover the Peach Parfait.

Then I stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree in Black Stazon ink. I cleaned the stamp and stamped the trees twice more using Sahara Sand ink to get the lighter trees in the background. Now for the ground. To get the bold and rich color of the grassy hills I just swiped the Lucky Limeade ink pad across the cardstock in an arcing motion until the entire bottom was covered. Then to add some shadows to the hills I repeated the same swiping motion with the Always Artichoke ink pad.

Now for the cutting to make the seperate panels. Cut 3/4" off of each of the sides. For the 3/4" wide side panels trim 1/2" off both the top and the bottom of the panel. All of the panels were sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink just to soften up the edges a bit. The smaller side panels were adhered to a 1" x 2 1/2" piece of Early Espresso cardstock. The larger center panel that is now 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" was adhered to a 1 5/8" x 3 3/8" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. This panel was then adhered to a 1 3/4" x 3 1/2" piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Next I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black ink on the bottom of the center panel.

To adhere the panels to the card front I put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of all three. Then starting with the center panel I adhered the panels onto the card front. That is it! It really isn't too difficult. I hope you give it a try!

If you are a Stampin' Up Demonstrator you can find the sketch challenge thread HERE. If you are not a Stampin' Up Demonstrator I would still love to see your creations! Please post a link to your project in the comments section of this post!

Ghirardelli Holder

Good morning! Today I am going to share with you the final project from the August Make & Take. This is the three dimensional project that we created!

Stamps: None
Cardstock: Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive, Whisper White
DSP: Pocket Full of Posies Designer Series Paper
Ink: So Saffron
Accessories: Large Scallop Circle Die, Simply Score, Bird Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Stampin' Sponge, Two-Way Glue Pen, Basic Pearls Jewel Accents, Stampin' Dimensionals

I started off with a piece of Pear Pizzaz cardstock that was cut at 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" and ran it through the Big Shot with the Large Scallop Circle Die. For the tutorial on how to create the chocolate holder take a look at Frenchie's wonderful video tutorial that you can find HERE.

The designer series paper band was a piece of Pocket Full of Posies DSP that was cut at 1" x 6" and was scored at 1 1/4", 1 5/8", 4 1/8", and 4 1/2". This was adhered around the box. The scallop oval punch was used on a scrap of So Saffron cardstock. The branch was punched with the Bird Punch from a scrap of Old Olive cardstock. The branch was adhered to the scalloped oval with Two-Way Glue Pen.

The bird was punched from Whisper White cardstock and the edges were sponged with So Saffron ink. The wind was punched from a scrap of the DSP and the edges were sponged with So Saffron ink. The bird wing was adhered to the bird with a Stampin' Dimensional. A basic pearl was added for the eye of the bird and the bird was adhered to the scalloped oval with a Stampin' Dimensional. Finally the scalloped oval was adhered to the chocolate holder with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Add a wonderfully delicious Ghirardelli chocolate inside and you're done. The hard part was convincing the ladies to put the chocolate into the holder and not eat it! So much fun! I hope you give these little cuties a try! There are several steps, but if you take your time and carefully cut you will have it made in no time!

Friend to Friend

Good morning all! Today I've got a sketch challenge to share with you! I know it's been a while since I've posted a sketch. It's not that I haven't been doing them, I just haven't ha d a chance to share them with you. Well here it is:

Here is the sketch created by Liz Goldhawk:

Stamps: Gently Falling, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
DSP: Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
Ink: Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Versamark
Accessories: Circle Scissors Plus, Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Gold Brads, Gold Embossing Poweder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, 5/8" Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Simply Score, Aquapainter, Mini Glue Dots, Pear Pizzaz re-inker.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". On the right hand side I added some raised score lines with the Simply Score. I added five lines spaced 1/4" apart and then four lines spaced 1/8" apart. This just adds a subtle detail to the right portion of the card that would otherwise be blank.

Not I've made several cards (many that I have yet to share) where I used Spice Cake DSP, Crumb Cake cardstock, and Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged EVERYTHING. Well this one I decided that even though I wanted to sponge it and make it look so aged and pretty I was going to leave the edges clean and simple instead just to do something different than what I've made lately. I'm glad I did because I really do love how this card came out.

One pattern of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 2 1/2" x 4" and was adhered to the left side of the card front. Next a strip of DSP in another pattern was cut at 3/4" x 4 1/4" and was adhered on top of the first piece of DSP.

Next I cut a 3 1/4" circle from Pool Party cardstock using the Circle Scissors Plus. I don't have all of the circle dies yet or I would have just used the die in the Big Shot. I will have to fix that sometime soon. The Pool Party circle was then run through the Big Shot in the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This was adhered to the center of the card front.

Now for the leaves. I stamped the long leaf in Pool Party ink and used the Rock-N-Roll technique to add some Early Espresso ink to the edges of the image and then stamped it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. For the other leaf I used the Rock-N-roll technique with Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso ink before stamping it onto the scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.

The stamped images were rubbed over with the Embossing Buddy and then I stamped the outline images in Versamark. After adding Gold Embossing powder and tapping off the excess I heated it with the Heat Tool to get the shiny pretty gold edging on my leaves. Next is the magic part. I used some Pear Pizzaz re-inker onto a piece of plastic that was headed for the trash can. I picked up just a little bit of color onto an Aquapainter and colored over the entire leaf with the re-inker and Aquapainter. For the Pool Party leaf I just colored over it with only the Aquapainter and clear water (no re-inker). By getting the stamped images moist with the Aquapainter the ink on the stamped images runs together a little bit and gives the edges more of a mottled look.

The leaves were cut out with Paper snips and after they dried completely they were adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionas. The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. This was punched out with the Modern Label Punch. The Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole in each end of the label where a gold brad was added. The label was then adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally a knot was tied into a short piece of 5/8" Old Olive Satin Ribbon and the knot was adhered to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.

Lots of steps and lots of layers and texture, but I love the overall look. I hope you get a chance to try this method for stamping your leaves it really is fun and the finished look is a fabulous addition to any fall project! I think I explained it okay, but I think I will do a tutorial for the leaves called Rock-N-Roll Watercolor. Look for it later this weekend or next week!

Fallen Leaves

Are you ready for fall? I know I am. It really does feel like fall here in Kansas. Some of the leaves on the trees are already beginning to change color. Anyway, here is a fall inspired card from the August Make and Take.

Stamps: French Foliage, Just Believe
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait
Accessories: Simply Score, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” with a 4 ¼” score. The next layer is Very Vanilla cardstock that was cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I scored around all four sides of the panel at ¼” to add subtle line details to the card front. Then the leaf image from French Foliage was stamped at the bottom of the cardstock in So Saffron ink. The greeting from Just Believe was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink at the bottom of the cardstock. This panel was adhered to the card front.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. The leaves from French Foliage were stamped in So Saffron, Peach Parfait, and Pumpkin Pie. The water spots image was stamped in Crumb Cake ink. Then the text image was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. This panel was adhered to a 3” x 3” piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Then this layer was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensioanls.

I must say that I really truly love the French Foliage stamp set. It’s another one that is really easy to make a really pretty card with, and I just love the bright colored leaves in the fall. I hope you get a chance to give this stamp set a try, it really is fabulous!

Pink Butterfly

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today I’m going to share with you the first card from the August Make and Take. Take a look:

Stamps: Something to Celebrate, Four Frames
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
DSP: Flirtatious
Ink: Versamark, Pink Pirouette

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock that was cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”. The card front was run through the Big Shot in the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Flirtatious DSP was cut at 2” x 4 ¼”. The Embossing Buddy was rubbed over the DSP in the place where you want your greeting stamped. The greeting from Something to Celebrate was stamped in Versamark and then covered with White embossing powder. The excess was tapped off and the embossing powder was heated with the heat tool. The DSP was adhered to the bottom of the card front.

Next I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch on a long scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The ribbon was adhered to the card front with the Two-Way Glue Pen covering the edge of the DSP. Two small flowers were punched from Melon Mambo cardstock scraps using the flower punch from the Punch Pack. One flower was adhere on top of the other, the petals lifted up, then the flower was adhered on top of the Whisper White ribbon. A single pearl was added to the center of the flower.

The image from Four Frames was stamped in Pink Pirouette ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The frame was punched out with the Decorative Label punch. Owl Clip Art

Today I have for you the three dimensional project that we made at the July Make and Take. It is a decorated extra large binder clip. I use this little cutie to hold a photo. Take a look:

Stamps: None
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Whisper White, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Pear Pizzaz
DSP: Cheerful Treat DSP
Ink: None
Accessories: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Two-Way Glue Pen, 5/8" Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Paper Snips, extra large binder clips

First place sticky strip onto your extra large binder clip along the sides all the way around the bottom and to the top of the other side. Do this to both sides. Also add sticky strip at the top (where the black metal curls for the clip) across to the other side. Remove the liner from the sticky strip and carefully adhere a 1 15/16" x 3 1/2" piece of DSP.

Note: You will have to measure the width of your binder clip. If it is larger or smaller than the 1 15/16" than trim it to the width that you need.

All of the owl pieces and the branches were punched from the cardstock scraps and the pieces were adhered together with the Two-Way Glue Pen. The branches were glued to the DSP on the binder clip. The owl was glued to the binder clip by putting one Stampin' Dimensional at the bottom of the owl and placing two dimensionals stacked one on top of the other onto the binder clip right next to the curl of the metal. Remove the liner from the dimensionals and adhere your owl on.

Finally a piece of 5/8" Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon was cut at 6 inches long, tied around the wire portion of the binder clip and the ends were trimmed into a dove-tail.

This was so easy and quick to make and looks pretty cute too! The binder clips I was able to pick up in the office section at my local Wal-Mart. But you could probably find them at an office supply store too. They are fun to decorate and would really make a cute gift!

Colorful Doilies

Good morning everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful start to the week! Well here is the third card from the July Make & Take. It uses some of the wonderful new In Colors and the fabulous Delicate Doilies stamp set and Large Lace punch. Take a look:

Stamps: Delicate Doilies, Upsy Daisy
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Markers: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Scalloped Oval Punch, 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch, Large Lace Border Punch

The card base is Calypso Coral cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and was scored at 4 1/4". Next a piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut at 3" x 5 1/2". Then the stamped Whisper White cardstock was adhered to a 1" x 5 1/2" piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock just so there is a little bit of a mat on the left side of the stamped cardstock.

Next a piece of Pool Party cardstock that was 5 1/2" wide was punched with the Large Lace Border Punch. The lace was adhered so to the back of the Lucky Limeade cardstock so that just over half of the lace is visible. Then this panel was adhered to the card front.

The greeting from Upsy Daisy was inked up with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade markers. I breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped the greeting onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The greeting was punched out with the 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch. The scalloped oval punch was used on a scrap of Lucky Limeade cardstock. Then the stamped greeting was adhered to the Lucky Limeade scalloped oval and this layer was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card has lots of brigh color, lots of lace, and is just plain fun! This card was cased from Jennifer Jackson at Stamp it with Jen. HERE is the link to her card and HERE is the link to her blog. What creations have you made with the Delicate Doilies stamp set or Lace Border Punch?

Imagine Sailing Away

Good morning everyone!!! Here is the first card from the July Make and Take. Although the fabulous stamp Sail Away has sailed away with the Summer Mini catalog my guests got the chance to make this wonderful card before it went away. Even though everyone was intimidated by this card it really is easy. Take a look:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), Woodgrain, Word Play
Cardstock: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Basic Black, Marina Mist, Early Espresso
Accessories: 5/8" Basic Black Satin ribbon, Basic Black Marker, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Sponge, Top Note Die, Post-It Notes, Stampin' Dimensionals, Hobby Blade

The card base is Pool Party cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". The card front was stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp with Pool Party ink. Next a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Island Indigo cardstock were cut at 4" x 5" and were both run through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die.

Right now we are going to use the Whisper White top note, so everything else can be set aside. Place a Post-It Note on a piece of copy paper and use the 1 3/4" Circle punch to punch a circle through the middle of the Post-It Note. Remove the Post-It Note from the copy paper. You do not want the circle, that can be put in the trash. You want the Post-It Note with the circle cut in the middle. Place the Post-It on top of your Whisper White cardstock with the circle where you want your sun to be. Use a Stampin' Sponge to sponge Daffodil Delight ink inside the entire circle. Now sponge Peach Parfait ink just on the bottom and right side of the circle. Now remove the Post-It note. Voila! You have a nice clean and perfectly shaded sun!

Ink up the Sail Away image with Black Stazon ink and stamp the sail boat where you want it on the card. Let the ink dry completely or use a heat tool to set the ink before continuing. Sponge the bottom portion of the Whisper White top note with Marina Mist ink to fill in the ocean area. Then take the ink pad directly to the paper and swipe the ink pad across the cardstock to create the horizon line. Next sponge the edges of the Whisper White top note with Early Espresso ink then stamp the greeting from Word Play in Basic Black ink. Color in the base of the boat with the Basic Black marker and set aside your beautiful top note.

Cut the Island Indigo top note in half length-wise and trim off the points that were in the middle of the short sides. Adhere each top note half behind the stamped top note to create a mat on each side. Adhere this layer to the card front.

Now stamp another sail boat in Black Stazon ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Cut out the sails with Paper Snips and adhere the sails on top of the stamped top note image with Stampin' Dimensionals. Now open up your card and use a Hobby Blade to cut the fold of the card where you want your ribbon to go. Insert your Basic Black Satin ribbon through the slit in the card fold, wrap it around the card front, and tie it into a knot. Now you're done!

It really isn't that hard, you just have to be brave and trust my instructions. Anything you aren't sure about doing, like swiping the ink pad across the cardstock, try it out on a piece of copy paper first to get the hang of it. Also remember, if it was perfect it would be Hallmark not handmade! I hope you give this wonderful card a try if you have this stamp set!

Holly Berry Stocking

Here is a Christmas card! I know it’s not Christmas yet, but it will be here before we know it! So here is a card created using the new Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stitched Stocking Stamp Set, and new Stocking Punch. Take a look:

Stamps: Stitched Stockings, Bright Hopes, Simple Snowflake
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
DSP: Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark, Old Olive
Accessories: 5/8” Real Red Satin Ribbon, Gold Embossing Powder, Stocking Punch, Real Red Glimmer Paper, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Gold Brad, Hobby Blade, Two-Way Glue Pen

Here is the sketch created by Susie Nelson:

The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. The Simple Snowflake image was stamped all over the card front in Cherry Cobbler ink to create a subtle background. Next a piece of the glittery striped Holly Berry Bouquet DSP was cut at ¾” x 4” and was adhered to the bottom of the card front.

Next the card was opened and the Hobby Blade was used to cut a slit in the fold of the card just wide enough for the ribbon to go through. The slit was positioned just above where the striped DSP was adhered. A piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon was inserted through the slit, wrapped around the card front, and tied into a knot.

Another piece of Holly Berry Bouquet DSP was cut at 2 5/8” x 3 7/8”. The Embossing Buddy was used where I wanted my greeting. The greeting from Bright Hopes was stamped in Versamark ink in the lower right hand corner of the DSP and was then covered with Gold Embossing powder. The excess embossing powder was tapped off and the remaining embossing powder was heated with the heat tool. This DSP was adhered to a 2 ¾” x 4” piece of Early Espresso cardstock and was then adhered to the card front.

The image from Stitched Stockings was stamped on a scrap of Old Olive cardstock in Old Olive ink. The stocking was then punched out with the Stocking Punch. The cuff, heel, and toe of the stocking were punched from Real Red Glimmer Paper. The glimmer paper pieces were adhered to the stocking with the Two-Way Glue Pen. Then the Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole in the top of the stocking and a Gold Brad was added. The stocking was then adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Spiced Thank You

Good morning all! I hope you are having a fabulous week! It’s finally cooling off here in Kansas and actually feels like fall. Time to break out the sweaters for those chilly early mornings! Now that it’s actually starting to cool off I’ve got fall and Christmas on the brain. I’m catching up from some past sketch challenges and here is the first one!

 Stamps: Curly Cute, French Foliage
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
DSP: Spice Cake DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Designer Label Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Stampin’ Sponge, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Crochet Trim Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

Here is the sketch created by Liz Goldhawk:

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. Next a piece of the striped DSP was cut at 2” x 4” and was sponged around the edges with Early Espresso then was adhered to the bottom of the card front. Then a 3” x 3 ¾” piece of DSP with the other pattern was cut, sponged around the edges with Early Espresso, and adhered to a 3 ¼” x 4” piece of Pool Party cardstock that was also sponged with Early Espresso. This layer was adhered to the card front.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 1 ½” x 2 ¾”. Two of the corners were punched with the Corner Rounder Punch. The cardstock was then stamped with the leaves from French Foliage in Pool Party ink by stamping off. Then the greeting from Curly Cute was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink then the edges were sponged with more Early Espresso ink. The Decorative Label punch was used with a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock and the label was cut in half width-wise. One of the halves was adhered to the corner rounded end and the other half was saved for another project later. No reason to waste right? This panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally a bow was tied from Crochet Trim Ribbon and the bow was adhered to the card front with Mini Glue Dots. That’s it! This card came together so quickly! Thanks Liz for the fabulous sketch!
