Owl Clip Art

Today I have for you the three dimensional project that we made at the July Make and Take. It is a decorated extra large binder clip. I use this little cutie to hold a photo. Take a look:

Stamps: None
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Whisper White, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Pear Pizzaz
DSP: Cheerful Treat DSP
Ink: None
Accessories: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Two-Way Glue Pen, 5/8" Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Paper Snips, extra large binder clips

First place sticky strip onto your extra large binder clip along the sides all the way around the bottom and to the top of the other side. Do this to both sides. Also add sticky strip at the top (where the black metal curls for the clip) across to the other side. Remove the liner from the sticky strip and carefully adhere a 1 15/16" x 3 1/2" piece of DSP.

Note: You will have to measure the width of your binder clip. If it is larger or smaller than the 1 15/16" than trim it to the width that you need.

All of the owl pieces and the branches were punched from the cardstock scraps and the pieces were adhered together with the Two-Way Glue Pen. The branches were glued to the DSP on the binder clip. The owl was glued to the binder clip by putting one Stampin' Dimensional at the bottom of the owl and placing two dimensionals stacked one on top of the other onto the binder clip right next to the curl of the metal. Remove the liner from the dimensionals and adhere your owl on.

Finally a piece of 5/8" Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon was cut at 6 inches long, tied around the wire portion of the binder clip and the ends were trimmed into a dove-tail.

This was so easy and quick to make and looks pretty cute too! The binder clips I was able to pick up in the office section at my local Wal-Mart. But you could probably find them at an office supply store too. They are fun to decorate and would really make a cute gift!

Thanks for stopping by!
