Gently Falling

Are you ready for a fun fall card? Because that is exactly what I have to share with you today. This is from the September Make and Take. 

• Stamps: Gently Falling, Happy Day
• DSP: Sweater Weather
• Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry
• Ink: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Old Olive
• Accessories: Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon

For this lovely start off with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and score it at 4-1/4". Next cut a piece of Sweater Weather plaid DSP 3-3/4" x 5" and adhere it onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Chocolate Chip card stock then adhere it onto the card front. 

Next cut a piece of Sweater Weather DSP 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" and stamp the greeting from Happy Day onto the bottom right corner of the DSP in Chocolate Chip ink. Then adhere this onto a 3" x 3" piece of Chocolate Chip card stock. Wrap a piece of Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon around the panel and tie it into a knot. Adhere this panel onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. 

Stamp the solid leaf image from Gently Falling onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock by using the Rock-N-Roll technique with Crushed Curry and Old Olive ink. Then stamp the line image of the leaf in Chocolate Chip ink. Use Paper Snips to cut out the leaf and adhere it onto the card front with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals. 

To dress up the inside cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock 4" x 5-1/4". Stamp the line image of the leaf a few times in Chocolate chip ink then adhere this onto the inside of the card.

This one was so fast and simple for my guests to make! Except for the fussy cutting of course. But overall pretty easy. Sometimes I surprise myself with how few accessories I use on some cards and how others have almost everything including the kitchen sink! Funny huh?

Autumn Leaves

It's Friday! That means it's time for a Friday Mashup card! This one I'm actually posting on time!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project with a  "Tree or Leaves."
2. Create a project using the "Color Orange."
3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Project with Leaves/ Tree & the Color Orange."

For this lovely I started off with a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4". Next I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock 3-5/8" x 4-7/8". I stamped the leaves from Gently falling all over the top end of the card stock using the Rock-N-Roll technique with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze inks. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the leaf outlines in Baked Brown Sugar ink. This was adhered onto a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Crushed Curry card stock.

Next I cut a piece of Burlap Ribbon 5-1/2" long, used Paper Snips to trim one end into a dove-tail shape, and used some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere it onto the panel and around to the backside. I wrapped a piece of Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain ribbon around the panel and tied it into a bow. This panel was adhered onto the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. 

For the greeting from Chalk Talk I simply stamped it onto a scrap of Bermuda Bay card stock in Bermuda Bay ink, punched it out with the XL Oval punch, added a couple Rhinestones, and adhered it onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. 

On the inside I just stamped a few of the leaf outlines onto the card stock in Bermuda Bay ink. So much fun!

Magnificent Maple!

It's Monday, but I have a Friday Mashup challenge for you! I'm a bit late getting this one posted. This one was fun!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project with "Ripped paper."
2. Create a project with a "a fussy cut image." (Cut something out)
3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with some Ripped paper & something Fussy Cut."

I started off by cutting a piece of Soft Sky card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scoring it at 4-1/4”. Next I cut a piece of Sweater Weather DSP 3-1/2” x 4-3/4” and adhered it onto the card front. I cut a piece of the blue pattern Sweater Weather DSP 4” x 4-1/2” and ran it through the Big Shot with the third from largest Labels Framelit. I adhered the label onto a 3” x 4-1/4” piece of Whisper White card stock and used Paper Snips to trim the label even with the edge of the Whisper White card stock before adhering it onto the card front. I stamped the greeting from Express Yourself onto the bottom of the label in Early Espresso ink.

Next I cut a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper 3/4” x 5-1/2” and punched one long edge with the Scallop Edge Border punch. I also cut a strip of Sweater Weather DSP 1/4” x 5-1/2”. I adhered the two strips onto the left side of the card front with some 2-Way Glue Pen.

I stamped the Magnificent Maple image onto Pumpkin Pie card stock in Cajun Craze ink and sponge a little more Cajun Craze ink around the edges of the leaf. I stamped the leaf again onto Old Olive card stock in Always Artichoke ink and sponged more Always Artichoke around the edges. Then I used Paper Snips to fussy cut both leaves out. I used my fingers to curl the edges of the leaves a bit and adhered them onto the card front with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up.

To finish it off I tied a bow with some Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon. Then I took two pieces of Linen Thread, tied it around the center of the bow in a knot, and then tied it into a bow. The bow was adhered onto the card front with a few Glue Dots. 

For the inside I stamped the Magnificent Maple leaf several times in Early Espresso ink. I also added a couple 1/4" x 4" DSP and Champagne Glimmer Paper scraps onto the bottom.

Here is the sketch that was created by Susie Nelson:

The card base is Basic Grey cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". A piece of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 1 7/8" x 3 3/4". The greeting from Thank You Kindly was stamped onto the DSP in Basic Black ink. This was then adhered to a 2" x 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock. Four strips of Pool Party cardstock were cut at 1/2" x 4" and were run through the Big Shot on the Tasteful Trim die to get the ric-rac shape. These strips were adhered to the card front on the left side. The greeting panel was adhered to the bottom of the card front, covering up the ends of the ric-rac cardstock. The ric-rac cardstock was trimmed to be about 1" away from the top of the card front.

 

Next the Scallop Square punch was used on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. The Postage Stamp Punch was used on a scrap of Spice Cake DSP. The DSP was adhered to the Basic Black scalloped squre and this layer was adhered to the card front. A piece of More Mustard cardstock was cut at 2 3/8" x 3 1/4". This was run through the Big Shot in the Snow Burst embossing folder before being adhered to the card front in the upper right hand corner.

Now for the leaves. The solid image of the leaves from Gently Falling were stamped onto a Very Vanilla cardstock scrap in Lucky Limeade and Pool Party ink. The acorn solid image was stamped in Soft Suede ink. The outlines for the leaves were stamped in Early Espresso, and the outline for the acorn was stamped in Basic Black. The leaves and acorn were cut out with Paper Snips and were adhered onto the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  



Not exactly my most favorite card, but it worked for the sketch. Now I have another fall Thank You card to add to my stash!

Fall Wreath

Good afternoon everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for the last week. I was busy cleaning and cooking preparing for Thanksgiving, and then recuperating the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! It was absolutely gorgeous on Thanksgiving here in Kansas. About 70 degrees I believe, but now it's feeling much more like the beginning of winter with the highs in the 40's. Anyway...on to a card. Here is a fall Thank You card that I created for sketch challenge SCCSC90 on Stampin' Connection.

Here is the sketch that was created by yours truly:

The card base is Cajun Craze cardstock that was cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and scored at 4 1/4". The outside edges of the card were sponged with Early Espresso ink. Next six Very Vanilla panels were cut at 1 7/8" x 1 1/2". Then three different patterns of Spice Cake DSP were cut at 1 5/8" x 1 1/4". The edges of the DSP and the Very Vanilla cardstock were all sponged with Early Espresso ink. The DSP was adhered on top of the Very Vanilla panels and these layers were adhered to the card front spaced as evenly as possible.

Next the image from Warmest of Wishes was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. The leaves were colored in with More Mustard and Pool Party markers, I used the Early Espresso marker to touch up some of the leaves that didn't get stamped as clearly. The center of the wreath was punched out with the 1" Circle punch. A larger punch would have really worked better for this, but I didn't have the right one. So instead I punched several times with the 1" circle punch and trimmed a little bit with my Paper Snips to get a nearly perfect circle in the center of my wreath. Then the entire wreath was punched out with the 2 3/8" Scalloped Cirlce punch. The outside and inside edges of the wreath were sponged with Early Espresso ink.

The wreath was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. A bow was tied in Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and the bow was adhered at the top of the wreath with a mini glue dot. Next the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. The greeting was punched out with the Word Window punch. The Modern Label punch was used on a scrap of Pool Party cardstock. Both labels were sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink. The greeting label was adhered to the Pool Party modern label. The Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole in each end of the label and a bronze brad was added in each hole. The label was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

That's it! I think the part that took the longest was all the sponging, but I really wanted the added depth that the sponging provides.

Gently Falling Swap Failure

A few months ago I joined a couple of swaps. One was for the Holiday Mini Catalog and the other was a Christmas Card swap. For those of you who don't know a swap is where you make several copies of the same card, send them in the mail to the hostess of the swap, she swaps your cards out with cards from other people. So you get back the same number of cards that you sent all designed by different people. Swaps are a great way to get new ideas for cards.

Anyway...time got away from me and I had to drop out of the Holiday Mini Catalog swap, but I still had the Christmas Card swap to create for. So I went down to my craft room and whipped out 6 of these cards and 6 of another design (to be posted tomorrow). I was totally happy! I loved my cards and I was actually going to be able to mail them out early instead of the day of like I usually do. As I was looking at the swap instructions to find the mailing address. That's when I noticed it.... Not at any point during the couple of hours it took to make all of the cards did I notice it. But I had designed a card just with supplies from the Holiday Mini Catalog when I was supposed to be designing a Christmas card! Oh no!!!!!. 

So I hurried down to my craft room the next day and whipped out 6 Christmas cards to replace the ones I had incorrectly made and was still able to mail out the swap on the post marked date. But now I have 6 of these sitting in a stack at home with no where to go!

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" with a 4 1/4" score. The card front was stamped with the solid image of the leaf in Crumb Cake ink and the line image of the leaf in Early Espresso ink to give the card a background pattern. The edges of the card front where heavily sponged with Early Espresso ink.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". This cardstock was stamped with En Francais in Pool Party ink and the edges of the panel were sponged with Early Espresso ink. Then a 3" x 4" piece of Pool Party cardstock was also sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink. The stamped Very Vanilla panel was adhered to the Pool Party panel.

Then two pieces of DSP were cut at 1" x 2 3/4". These strips were run through the Big Shot on the Tasteful Trim Die to cut out the large scallops. The edge of the scallops were sponged with Early Espresso ink and then they were adhered to the bottom of the Very Vanilla and Pool Party panel. A piece of 5/8" Chocoalte Chip Satin Ribbon was wrapped around the panel where the DSP met the cardstock and the ribbon was adhered to the back. This panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The solid image of the leaf was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. The line image of the leaf was stamped in Versamark, covered with Gold Embossing powder, the excess powder tapped off, then heated with the heat tool. Then I used the Aqua Painter to add Peach Parfait ink to the leaf just to fill it in. The leaf was cut out with Paper Snips and the leaf was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This was a tad bit time consuming, but not too bad overall. Anyway... let me know if you would like to swap for one of these!

Gently Falling Leaf

Here is the third card from the October Make and Take. It was a more difficult card for my guests with the heat embossing and folder embossing and sponging, but the end result is wonderful! Take a look:

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. A piece of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. The edges were sponged with Chocolate Chip ink and the DSP was adhered to the card front. A piece of Early Espresso cardstock was cut at 1 ½” x 4” and was run through the Big Shot in the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The textured cardstock was adhered to the card front in the middle.

Then a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”. The solid image of the leaf was inked in Peach Parfait ink and then just the outside edges were inked with Cajun Craze. This is called the Rock-N-Roll technique. If you are not familiar with this technique you can find a tutorial by clicking on the Free Tutorials tab at the top of the page. The line image of the leaf was stamped in Versamark ink over the solid image of the leaf. Gold Embossing Powder was applied over the ink, the excess tapped off, and the powder was heated with the heat tool to create a shiny gold image.

The edges of the leaf panel were sponged in Chocolate Chip ink. This was adhered to a 2 ½” x 2 ½” piece of Pool Party cardstock. This layer was then adhered to a 2 5/8” x 2 5/8” piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Next a piece of More Mustard cardstock was cut at 3 ½” x 3 ½” and was run through the Big Shot on the Scalloped Squares Duo die. The leaf panel was adhered to the scalloped More Mustard square. The edges of the scalloped square were sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. The panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally the greeting from Day of Gratitude was stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock in Versamark. Gold Embossing Powder was poured over the image, the excess tapped off, and heated with the heat tool. The greeting was then punched out with the Curly Label Punch. I used Paper Snips to cut off the bottom portion of the curly label, sponged around the edges of the label with Chocolate Chip ink, and adhered the label to the bottom right hand corner of the card front.

Foliage Spiced Birthday

This is the second card from the September Make and Take! This one is a fall birthday card.

Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: Simply Score, 2” x 1 3/8” Oval Punch, Small Flower Punch (Punch Pack), Stampin’ Sponge, Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive, Basic Pearls Jewel Accents, Paper Snips

The card base is Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. The leaf image from French Foliage was stamped all around the card front in Crumb Cake ink. If you stamp the image onto the cardstock twice before inking it again you get the two varied shades of leaves that you can see on the card. Then the edges of the card front were sponged with Early Espresso cardstock. Now I had to let my guests play with the new Simply Score, so I added three score lines at ¼”, ½”, and ¾” on the bottom edge of the card front. It creates a very subtle line detail.

A piece of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 2” x 5 ½” and was sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink. This was adhered to a 2 1/8” x 5 ½” piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Then this layer was adhered to a 2 3/8” x 5 ½” piece of Pool Party cardstock that also had the edges sponged with Early Espresso ink. This was adhered to the card front.

Next I used the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a 3” x 2 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I cut out around the embossed shape with Paper Snips. The edge of the embossed oval was sponged in Early Espresso ink.

Then the greeting from Perfect Punches was stamped in Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Spice Cake DSP. The greeting was punched out with the 2” x 1 3/8” Oval Punch. The edges were sponged with Early Espresso ink and it was adhered into the center of the embossed oval. This oval was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, just to finish it off I punched two small flowers from a scrap of Peach Parfait cardstock, sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink, folded the petal up to give it some dimension, adhered them together with Tombow Multi-Purpose adhesive, and adhered them to the DSP oval above the greeting with more Tombow Multi-Purpose adhesive. A single small pearl was added to the center of the flower.

I think my guests were tired of sponging by this point, but the result is a beautiful fall inspired birthday card. It truly is one of my favorites!

Fall Tree

Here is the second card from the October Make and Take. I just couldn’t resist doing a card with a fall tree. Fall is my favorite season after all. Take a look at the card we made:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree
Cardstock: More Mustard, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Chocoalte Chip
DSP: Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper
Markers: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Neutrals Brads (Pewter), Stampin’ Dimensionals, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder

The card base is More Mustard cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. A piece of So Saffron cardstock was cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This was adhered to the card front. A piece of Cajun Craze cardstock was cut at 2 ¼” x 4” and one lone side was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. A piece of Frostwood Lodge DSP was cut at 1 5/8” x 4”. You could somewhat see the white edges of the DSP so I sponged the edges of the DSP with Early Espresso ink. The DSP was adhered to the Cajun Craze cardstock. This panel was adhered to the bottom of the card front. The Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to pierce two holes in the upper right and corner of the DSP and two pewter brads from the Neutral Brad Pack were added.

A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 2” x 4”. The pine tree from Lovely as a Tree was colored in completely with the More Mustard marker. The trunk of the tree was colored with the Chocolate Chip marker. Then the colors Cajun Craze, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler were randomly tapped on the tree image. I breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped the image onto the cardstock. This method of coloring gives a very realistic looking fall tree. This panel was adhered to a 2 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of More Mustard. The panel was then adhered to a 2 3/8” x 4 3/8” piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock before being adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it! A pretty quick and simple card once you can get everyone convinced to tap the marker colors without paying attention to where you’re tapping. I kept hearing people oooh and ahhhh after they stamped the image. I hope you will give this technique a try sometime!

Friend to Friend

Good morning all! Today I've got a sketch challenge to share with you! I know it's been a while since I've posted a sketch. It's not that I haven't been doing them, I just haven't ha d a chance to share them with you. Well here it is:

Accessories: Circle Scissors Plus, Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Gold Brads, Gold Embossing Poweder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, 5/8" Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Simply Score, Aquapainter, Mini Glue Dots, Pear Pizzaz re-inker.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". On the right hand side I added some raised score lines with the Simply Score. I added five lines spaced 1/4" apart and then four lines spaced 1/8" apart. This just adds a subtle detail to the right portion of the card that would otherwise be blank.

Not I've made several cards (many that I have yet to share) where I used Spice Cake DSP, Crumb Cake cardstock, and Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged EVERYTHING. Well this one I decided that even though I wanted to sponge it and make it look so aged and pretty I was going to leave the edges clean and simple instead just to do something different than what I've made lately. I'm glad I did because I really do love how this card came out.

One pattern of Spice Cake DSP was cut at 2 1/2" x 4" and was adhered to the left side of the card front. Next a strip of DSP in another pattern was cut at 3/4" x 4 1/4" and was adhered on top of the first piece of DSP.

Next I cut a 3 1/4" circle from Pool Party cardstock using the Circle Scissors Plus. I don't have all of the circle dies yet or I would have just used the die in the Big Shot. I will have to fix that sometime soon. The Pool Party circle was then run through the Big Shot in the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This was adhered to the center of the card front.

Now for the leaves. I stamped the long leaf in Pool Party ink and used the Rock-N-Roll technique to add some Early Espresso ink to the edges of the image and then stamped it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. For the other leaf I used the Rock-N-roll technique with Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso ink before stamping it onto the scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.

The stamped images were rubbed over with the Embossing Buddy and then I stamped the outline images in Versamark. After adding Gold Embossing powder and tapping off the excess I heated it with the Heat Tool to get the shiny pretty gold edging on my leaves. Next is the magic part. I used some Pear Pizzaz re-inker onto a piece of plastic that was headed for the trash can. I picked up just a little bit of color onto an Aquapainter and colored over the entire leaf with the re-inker and Aquapainter. For the Pool Party leaf I just colored over it with only the Aquapainter and clear water (no re-inker). By getting the stamped images moist with the Aquapainter the ink on the stamped images runs together a little bit and gives the edges more of a mottled look.

The leaves were cut out with Paper snips and after they dried completely they were adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionas. The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. This was punched out with the Modern Label Punch. The Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole in each end of the label where a gold brad was added. The label was then adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally a knot was tied into a short piece of 5/8" Old Olive Satin Ribbon and the knot was adhered to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.

Lots of steps and lots of layers and texture, but I love the overall look. I hope you get a chance to try this method for stamping your leaves it really is fun and the finished look is a fabulous addition to any fall project! I think I explained it okay, but I think I will do a tutorial for the leaves called Rock-N-Roll Watercolor. Look for it later this weekend or next week!

Fallen Leaves

Are you ready for fall? I know I am. It really does feel like fall here in Kansas. Some of the leaves on the trees are already beginning to change color. Anyway, here is a fall inspired card from the August Make and Take.

Stamps: French Foliage, Just Believe
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait
Accessories: Simply Score, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” with a 4 ¼” score. The next layer is Very Vanilla cardstock that was cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I scored around all four sides of the panel at ¼” to add subtle line details to the card front. Then the leaf image from French Foliage was stamped at the bottom of the cardstock in So Saffron ink. The greeting from Just Believe was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink at the bottom of the cardstock. This panel was adhered to the card front.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. The leaves from French Foliage were stamped in So Saffron, Peach Parfait, and Pumpkin Pie. The water spots image was stamped in Crumb Cake ink. Then the text image was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. This panel was adhered to a 3” x 3” piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Then this layer was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensioanls.

I must say that I really truly love the French Foliage stamp set. It’s another one that is really easy to make a really pretty card with, and I just love the bright colored leaves in the fall. I hope you get a chance to give this stamp set a try, it really is fabulous!

Spiced Thank You

Good morning all! I hope you are having a fabulous week! It’s finally cooling off here in Kansas and actually feels like fall. Time to break out the sweaters for those chilly early mornings! Now that it’s actually starting to cool off I’ve got fall and Christmas on the brain. I’m catching up from some past sketch challenges and here is the first one!

Here is the sketch created by Liz Goldhawk:

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. Next a piece of the striped DSP was cut at 2” x 4” and was sponged around the edges with Early Espresso then was adhered to the bottom of the card front. Then a 3” x 3 ¾” piece of DSP with the other pattern was cut, sponged around the edges with Early Espresso, and adhered to a 3 ¼” x 4” piece of Pool Party cardstock that was also sponged with Early Espresso. This layer was adhered to the card front.

Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was cut at 1 ½” x 2 ¾”. Two of the corners were punched with the Corner Rounder Punch. The cardstock was then stamped with the leaves from French Foliage in Pool Party ink by stamping off. Then the greeting from Curly Cute was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink then the edges were sponged with more Early Espresso ink. The Decorative Label punch was used with a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock and the label was cut in half width-wise. One of the halves was adhered to the corner rounded end and the other half was saved for another project later. No reason to waste right? This panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally a bow was tied from Crochet Trim Ribbon and the bow was adhered to the card front with Mini Glue Dots. That’s it! This card came together so quickly! Thanks Liz for the fabulous sketch!

Fall Gift Card Holder Card - November Make and Take 4

Today I have for you the fourth November Make and Take project. I didn't get a chance to play with the sketch from yesterday. I hope to do that tonight so you can see the sketch and my card tomorrow. This card is the more masculine card. Take a look:

Stamps: Autumn Splendor, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Black Stazon

Accessories: Swirls Texturez Plate, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Sponge, 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Marker

The card base is Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". The next layer is Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" that was run through the Big Shot on the swirls Texturez plate. The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Cajun Craze ink in the bottom right hand corner of the Whisper White cardstock and it was adhered to the card front.

The next layer is Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" and scored at 2 3/4". The cardstock was folded on the score line and the back was adhered to the card front close to the top of the card. Since I already had them I added a 2 5/8" x 3 5/8" envelope on the inside of the flap. You could also add a small strip at the bottom of the inside with 1/4" red tape and it would still work to hold the gift card.

The Watercolor Paper was cut at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". The leaf from Autumn Splendor was stamped in Black Stazon. The leaf was colored in by using the ink pad and Aqua Painters with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze. The edges were sponged with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink and the panel was adhered to the card front. A piece of 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon was tied around the entire card front. The ribbon was left loose so that while its over the leaf flap it holds the flap closed hiding the gift card inside. You just slide the ribbon down the card and you can open the flap.
