Blissful Paisley Petals

This card was created for this week’s Monday Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Stamps: Just Believe, Bliss
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Bravo Burgundy, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
DSP: Paisley Petals
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Pear Pizzaz
Accessories: Basic Pearl Jewel Accents, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Needle Tool, Mat Pack, Bronze Brads, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Modern Label Punch, Two-Way Glue Pen, Crochet Trim Victoria Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Bravo Burgundy Marker, Paper Snips

The card base is Marina Mist cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. A piece of Paisley Petal s DSP was cut at 2” x 5 ½” and adhered to a piece of Bravo Burgundy cardstock that was cut at 2 ¼” x 5 ½’. Some Victoria Crochet Trim was added around the panel and tied into a bow.

The greeting from Just Believe was stamped in Bravo Burgundy ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. Another modern label was punched from Marina Mist ink and cut in half length-wise with Paper Snips and adhered behind the Whisper White label. A second Marina Mist modern label was punched and cut in half width-wise and adhered behind the Whisper White label to create a mat. The Needle Tool and Mat Pack were used to pierce a hole on each end of the label and through the DSP panel. Two bronze brads were added in the holes to hold the label onto the card front. Then this panel was adhered to the card front.

Next a piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut at 2” x 3”. The flourish from Bliss was stamped in the center in Pear Pizzaz ink. This panel was sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz before being adhered to a 2 1/8” x 3 1/8” piece of Peach Parfait cardstock. A scrap of Bravo Burgundy cardstock was punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch and cut down to 2 1/8” and adhered behind one side of the Pear Pizzaz cardstock so just the little scallops show. This panel was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

After looking at the card for a while it just kept calling out for something else to be added, so I stamped the flower from Bliss in Bravo Burgundy ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, added some shadows to the petals with the Bravo Burgundy Marker, then cut it out with Paper Snips. Some Basic Pearl Jewel Accents were added to the flower center and the flower was adhered to the center of the flourish with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

If you are a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator you can find the sketch challenge thread here. If you are not a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator I would still love to see your creations. Please post a link to your card in the comments section of this post. I hope you get a chance to play along! Later today I will share with you the main reason why I haven’t been posting much lately. You’ll want to come back to take a look!
