Lacy Birthday

Today I have yet another card that I've been meaning to post for quite a long time. I made this card as part of my swaps for the 2013 Stampin' Up! Convention. So unfortunately two of the stamp sets used on this card are now retired. I thought you might still enjoy seeing it though. 

• Coastal Cabana card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Whisper White card stock 2" x 5-1/2"
• Silver glimmer Paper 1/8" x 5-1/2"
• Basic Black 2" x 5-1/2"
• Stamps: Lacy and Lovely, Woodgrain, Teeny Tiny Wishes
• Ink: Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, Stazon
• Accessories: Delicate Designs embossing folder, Large Scallop Edgelit, Gingham Garden washi tape

I started off by folding the Coastal Cabana card stock on the score line and stamping the Woodgrain background image in Coastal Cabana ink. Next I stamped the doily images from Lacy and Lovely in Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate ink. I wrapped a piece of Gingham Garden washi tape around the bottom of the panel and stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes at the very bottom in Basic Black ink. 

For the black piece I used the Large Scallop Edgelit in the Big Shot to cut the scalloped shape on one of the long sides. Then I ran it through the Big Shot again in the Delicate Designed embossing folder. I know it's difficult to see, but that piece does have some texture.

I used some glue stick to glue just the edge of the Basic Black piece behind the stamped Whisper White card stock. Then I used some 2-Way Glue Pen to glue the strip of Silver Glimmer paper right next to the edge of the Whisper White card stock. Then I just glued this layer onto the card front with some Glue Stick. 

I really love the contrast between the Basic Black and Coastal Cabana.

You're Too Kind

Today I have a fun layered up card to share with you This one I just really had a lot if fun stacking different elements and bright colors with the lovely Smoky Slate card stock.

 

• Basic Gray card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Whisper White card stock 3-3/4" x 5"
• Quatrefancy DSP 3-5/8" x 4-7/8"
• Quatrefacncy DSP 1" 3-3/4"
• Silver Glimmer Paper 1/8" x 3-3/4"
• Stamps: Too Kind
• Ink: Melon Mambo
• Accessories: Perfect Pennants Die, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Brights Buttons, Stampin' Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen

For this card I started off by gluing the large piece of DSP onto the Whisper White card stock. Then I glued that layer onto the card front. I took a scrap of Smoky Slate card stock and ran it through the Big Shot on the Perfect Pennants de to get the lacy scalloped circle. I stamped the greeting from Too Kind onto a scrap of Smoky Slate DSP in Melon Mambo ink and punched that out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch and glued it inside the scallopy circle. I stuck the scalloped circle onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. 

 

 

Next I punched a scrap of Whisper White card stock with the 1" Circle Punch then punched that circle out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch to create my ring of card stock. I glued the ring onto the card front just under the scalloped circle with 2-Way Glue Pen. I used the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to punch out the Silver Glimmer Paper and stuck that onto the card front with a small piece of a Stampin' Dimensional.
 

I glued the tiny strip of Silver Glimmer Paper onto the yellow Quatrefancy DSP piece with 2-Way Glue Pen then used Paper Snips to trim one end into a dove-tail shape before sticking it onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. Just for another little fun pop of color I stuck a Brights button onto the left side of the banner with another Stampin' Dimensional.

I really like the fun layers and bright colors on this card with the touch of sparkle. Because you know every project has to have at least a little bit of sparkle! :)

A Vivid Vases Mother's Day

Today I have the other Mother's Day card I made. This one I made for my mother-in-law who happens to love pink.

• Strawberry Slush card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Whisper White card stock 3-1/4" x 3"
• Basic Black card stock 3-1/2" x 3-1/4"
• Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon 21"
• Ink: Stazon, Strawberry Slush
• Markers: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Blender Pen
• Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Petite Petals Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon

I started off by folding the Strawberry Slush card stock on the score line and stamping the card front with the Positively Chevron background stamp in Strawberry Slush ink. Then I took the Pink Pirouette ribbon and wrapped it around the card front and tied it into a bow. 

Next I stamped the Vivid Vases image onto the Whisper White card stock in Stazon ink. I used the markers to color in the flowers. For the vases I squeezed the center of the closed Strawberry Slush ink pad, then opened it up  half-way, and used a Blender Pen to pick up some of the color to apply to the vases starting from the bottom and working my way up. That gives the vases the lovely ombre look. This layer was glued onto the Basic Black card stock and then this panel was stuck onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. 

I wanted to add just a little more to this card so I stamped a flower from Petite Petals onto a scrap of Pink Pirouette card stock in Strawberry Slush ink. I punched out the stamped flower as well as an additional flower from Strawberry Slush card stock with the Petitie Petals punch. I glued the flowers together with some 2-Way Glue Pen then stuck it onto the card front with a Stampin' Dimensional. Finally, to add a little sparkle, I added a Rhinestone into the center of the flower.

A Grateful Mother's Day

I know, Mother's Day was several months ago, but I figured it was still worth sharing the cards I made. This one I made for my mom with the new fabulous Hello Honey card stock.

• Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits, Deco Labels Framelits, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Embossing Buddy, Gold embossing powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Paper Lace Doilies

I started off by folding the Hello Honey card stock on the score line. Then I glued down the paper doily onto the left side of the card stock with some glue stick. I glued the Moonlight DSP onto the Daffodil Delight card stock and then stuck that onto the card front with some glue stick.

Now onto the flower panel. I cut a scrap of Whisper White card stock with the 3rd from smallest Deco Labels Framelit. I stamped the flower image from So Very Grateful onto the card stock in Versamark ink. Then I covered the stamped image with gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and heated it with my Heat Tool. I colored the flowers in and then used my Paper Piercing Tool and Stampin' Pierce Mat to add the pierced holes around the edge of the label. I stuck this panel onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the greeting banner onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Primrose Petals ink then cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelit. I added a couple small Rhinestones on each end of the banner and stuck the banner onto the card front with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside I took the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the flower image in the corner using Hello Honey ink and glued it inside the card with some glue stick.

A simple, yet pretty Mother's Day card. 

Drab to Fabulous an Upcycling Challenge

Thinking of You

I finally had a chance to play along with the Creating Pretty Cards sketch #37 this last week. Of course I don't get around to sharing it until the last day that you can play along. So here is the fun layered up card that I created. I love the bright and bold stripes from the Moonlight DSP Stack.

Here are all the supplies: 

• Crumb Cake card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Moonlight DSP 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
• Silver Glimmer Paper 1/8" x 5-1/2"
• 24" Whisper White Baker's Twine
• Stamps: Sassy Salutations, Truly Grateful
• Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pool Party
• Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Banner Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Paper Doilies, 2-Way Glue Pen

 I started off by folding the Crumb Cake card stock on the score line then stuck the DSP down with some glue stick. Next I cut one of the Paper Doilies in half and use a little more Glue Stick to glue it onto the bottom right of the card front. Next up I glued the Glimmer Paper right across the middle of the card with some 2-Way Glue Pen.

I used the smallest Banner Framelit with a scrap of Strawberry Slush card stock to cut out the little banner. Then I used the second from smallest Banner Framelit to cut out a scrap of Pool Party card stock for the larger banner. I took the chevron woodgrain image from Truly Grateful and stamped it onto the Pool Party banner. The Pool Party banner was glued down with more glue stick while the Strawberry Slush banner was stuck on with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.

Next up I took the twine and wrapped it around the card twice and tied it into a nice little bow. I stamped the greeting from Sassy Salutations onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Strawberry Slush ink. Then I cut it out with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits. I used the Paper Piercing Tool and Stampin' Pierce Mat to add the pierced holes all the way around the label. 

The label was stuck onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals and a couple Rhinestones were added onto either end to glam it up.
