Thinking of You

I have another sketch card for you! This one is for the SCCSC135 Sketch Challenge on Stampin’ Connection. Take a look:

Here is the sketch that was created by yours truly:

I started off by cutting a piece of Early Espresso card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. I ran the card front through the Big Shot in the Chevron embossing folder to give it some texture and pattern. You can’t really see it well in the photo though. Next I cut a piece of Midnight Muse striped DSP 1-7/8” x 4-7/8”.

I stamped the greeting from Sassy Salutations onto the left side of the DSP in Versamark ink. I covered the stamped image with Tempting Turquoise embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and heated it with the Heat Tool. After the embossing cooled off I used a Sponge Dauber and Midnight Muse ink to sponge around the greeting to make the letters pop out more.  I adhered this onto a 2” x 5” piece of Midnight Muse card stock then adhered the panel onto the card front.

For the second panel I cut a piece of Candlelight Christmas DSP 1-7/8” x 3-3/8” and adhered it onto a 2” x 3-1/2” piece of Summer Starfruit card stock. I used my Paper Piercer and Stampin’ Pierce Mat to pierce a hole in the card stock and added one Antique Brad. I adhered this panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I ran a scrap of Champagne Glimmer paper through the Big Shot on the Little Leaves Sizzlit.

Tip: when die cutting Glimmer Paper with one of the thin dies put the die blade against the paper side of the Glimmer Paper. This helps you get cleaner die cut lines with the Glimmer Paper.

I adhered the glimmery leaves onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals on all but one leaf. On the remaining leaf and stem I applied 2-Way Glue Pen and stuck the stem of the leaf under the brad while I was adhering it in place.

Apple For Teacher Friday Mashup 75

It’s Friday! That means there is another Friday Mashup Challenge! Take a look at the card I made:

• Stamps: Apple Blossoms (retired), En Francais
• Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
• Ink: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
• Accessories: Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Black Marker, Stampin’ Sponge, XL Heart Punch, Bird Punch, Paper Snips, Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

1. Make a "Back to School" themed project.
2. Or Make a project with "Sewing".
3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Back to School project with Sewing". 

I started off by cutting a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to pierce holes around the sides and bottom of the card front. Then I used the fine point of my Basic Black marker to connect the dots and create faux stitching. Next I stamped the apple image from Apple Blossoms onto the card front several times in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Next I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 1-3/4” x 5-1/2” and stamped the apple image across it in Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler ink onto the right side of the stamped Whisper White card stock. I adhered this onto a 2” x 5-1/2” piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I wrapped a piece of Daffodil Delight stitched grosgrain ribbon around the left side of the panel and tied it into a knot.  This panel was adhered onto the top portion of the card front.

Now for the cute little apple! I stamped a couple scrap pieces of Whisper White card stock with En Francais in Black Stazon ink. Then I used the XL Heart Punch to punch out 10 hearts. I sponged the bottom 2/3 of each heart edge with Cherry Cobbler ink and sponged the top 1/3 with Lucky Limeade ink. Then I folded each heart in half and glued the halves back to back until you have all ten hearts glued together. Similar to what I did in THIS tutorial.

Find the middle of the half accordion of hearts and fold it out and use Paper Snips to cut off just a little bit of the point of heart so it looks more like an apple. Then take your Cherry Cobbler sponge and sponge the bottom edges. I had some punched leaves left over from something else in my scrap bin, so I glued those onto the card front for the apple stem and leaves. Then I just glued the two remaining un-stamped sides of the accordion heart onto the card front with some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

That’s it! Although this card may not easily go through the mail, it is still a great one that you can hand to that special teacher. Now I just have one problem…. I don’t have any kids and don’t know any teachers. Anyone want the perfect card for a teacher???

Quadruple Time Stamping!

I have seen so many beautiful cards in online galleries and Pinterest that are made with the Triple Time Stamping technique that you can find HERE. When Susie posted this sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do! My version of Triple Time Stamping, but since it’s actually four panels I guess it’s Quadruple Time Stamping!  Enough rambling….here is the card I made:

Here is the sketch that was created by Susie Nelson:

It was a little complicated to figure out the sizes I wanted to use for this, but I’ll make it easy for you and give you the dimensions! I started off by cutting a piece of Sahara Sand card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. I stamped the swirl image from Everything Eleanor onto the card front in Sahara Sand just to give it some pattern in the background.

Next I cut four pieces of Whisper White card stock as follows; 1-7/8” x 5-1/8”, 1-7/8” x 3-7/8”, 1-7/8” x 2-3/8”, and 1-7/8” x 1-7/8”. I applied a little bit of 2-Way Glue Pen onto the back of each layer and allowed the glue to dry until it was clear then I adhered the layers together. I stamped the swirl image all over the card stock in Sahara Sand ink. I stamped the flower all over in Midnight Muse ink. I stamped the greeting from Lovely and Lacy in Black Stazon ink on the smallest panel. After all the stamping was done I carefully pulled apart the layers.

I cut four pieces of Midnight Muse card stock as follows: 2” x 5-1/4”, 2” x 4”, 2” x 2-1/2”, and 2” x 2”. I adhered the stamped Whisper White panels onto the coordinating sized Midnight Muse panel. I adhered the largest panel straight onto the card front. I adhered the middle two layers together, then adhered it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I adhered the smallest panel with one layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the left side, and two layers of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right side so it was popped up of the middle panel and straight. Does that make sense? Clear as mud?

I used my Paper Piercer and Stampin’ Pierce Mat to pierce three holes in both the upper left and lower right corners of the card front and added a Mini Brad in each hole. I wanted to add a pop of color with a flower so I stamped the flower image from Everything Eleanor onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Black Stazon ink. I colored in the flower with my Calypso Coral marker and Blender Pen, then cut out the shape with Paper Snips. I applied several Pearls onto the stamens of the flower then coated the entire thing in Crystal Effects. It looked really pretty before the Crystal Effects, but it looks awesome with the shiny surface! I adhered the flower onto the card front with another Stampin’ Dimensional.

This is one really dimensional card with all those layers popped up, and I love it. I don’t think I’ll be sending it through the mail though.

Cherish the Moments Friday Mashup 74!

I’m a little late this week. This should have been posted Friday, but I was too busy enjoying a nice long weekend off work. I actually got to spend some time cleaning out and organizing my craft room Saturday. I still have a long way to go before I’m totally done, but its progress! Anyway…Here is the card I made for the Friday Mashup challenge from last Friday.

• Stamps: Baby Prints
• Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Whisper White
• Ink: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
• Accessories: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Baja Breeze pleated ribbon (retired), SNAIL Adhesive

Since part of the challenge was to use pleats I pulled out some of my Baja Breeze pleated ribbon that retired earlier this year. It was perfect for this challenge! I started off by cutting a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. Next I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 3-1/2” x 4-3/4”. I cut a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock 2-1/4” x 3-1/2” and ran it through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I adhered this onto the bottom of the Whisper White card stock.

Then I stamped the hands from Baby Prints onto the top of the Whisper White card stock in Baja Breeze ink. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso ink right on top of the hand prints. I adhered this layer onto a 3-3/4” x 5” piece of Early Espresso card stock.  I used a little bit of SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the pleated ribbon onto the panel and adhered this layer onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Super quick and easy. I was kind of in a hurry when I created this card, but I still really like how it turned out. Simple and pretty.
