Watercolor Stamping

Here is the third card front the October Make and Take! This one uses a fun technique to create that watercolor background.

• Baked Brown Sugar card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
• Pool Party card stock 3-1/4" x 4"
• Watercolor Paper 3" x 3-1/4"
• Gold Baker's Twine 15"
• Stamps: Truly Grateful, Serene Silhouettes
• Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Mossy Meadow, Stazon
• Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Gold Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals, spray bottle with water, paper towel

First off fold the Baked Brown sugar card stock on the score line and run the card front through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Now set that aside so we can get to the fun part. 

Take a clear block and press the Tempting Turquoise and Mossy Meadow ink pads directly onto the block. Make sure you leave some white space between the two colors of ink. 

Now spray the block with a find mist of water until the ink gets good and runny and starts to blend together.

Press your watercolor paper onto the block really well then lift the watercolor paper up. Use a paper towel to blot  up any extra water on your paper and dry it with your Heat Tool really well.

Now stamp the image from Serene Silhouettes onto the watercolored panel in Stazon ink. Glue your lovely watercolor image onto the top of your Pool Party card stock then stamp the greeting from Truly Grateful onto the bottom of the Pool Party card stock in Mossy Meadow ink. 

Wrap the Gold Baker's Twine around the panel and tie it into a bow. Then glue the panel onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now you have a lovely watercolor inspired card. I bet this technique would look lovely with some pastel colors for a spring card too!
