It's time for another Sketch Challenge from Stampin' Connection! This week's sketch was created by Susie, take a look:
Here is my take on the sketch:
Stamps: Day of Gratitude
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait, Very Vanilla
DSP: Autumn Spice
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Paper Snips, Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Glimmer Brad, Stampin' Dimensionals, Needle Tool, Mat Pack, Designer Label Punch, Markers: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso
The card base is Chocolate Chip cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". A piece of Peach Parfait cardstock was cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and was adhered to the card front. A piece of Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper was cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". Another piece of Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper was cut at 2" x 2 3/4" and adhered to the center of the striped DSP.
On another scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock I colored the acorn from Day of Gratitude in with the Peach Parfait and Early Espresso markers then breathed on it and stamped it off before stamping on the Very Vanilla scrap. The 'Thank You" was then stamped in Old Olive ink on top of the acorn. This was punched out with the Designer Label punch and adhered to the striped DSP. The Needle Tool and Mat Pack were used again to punch holes for the Very Vanilla brads. To do this place your Hodpodge Hardware frame down and punch the Needle Tool through the holes. Then insert the brads through the frame and cardstock and spread the prongs to hold it in place. The Autumn Spice DSP with it's many layers was then adhered to the card front.
The medallion from Day of Gratitude was inked with Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, and Poppy Parade markers. I breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped it on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. This was then cut out with Paper Snips. The Needle Tool and Mat Pack were used to punch a hole in the center of the medallion and a Champagne Glimmer Brad was added. The medallion was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Although it took quite a bit of time to color in the medallion and to cut it out the effect was well worth the effort! Thanks Susie for the wonderful sketch! I hope you get a chance to play along with the sketch. If you are a Stampin' Up Demonstrator you can find the sketch challenge post here. If you are not a Demonstrator and would still like to play along please post the link to your creation in the comments section here. I would love to see what you come up with! Have fun stamping!
