Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine

Due to Stampin' Up's partnership with Sizzix, we are pleased to be able to offer a test run of the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine in our North American markets. We have 4,000 available to be sold only while supplies last. If this product test goes well, we may offer the Texture Boutique again in the future.
The Texture Boutique works with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to transform ordinary cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum into an embossed, textured masterpiece. This machine embosses only; it does not die cut. Because this is a product test, the Texture Boutique is not branded with the Stampin' Up! logo. It comes in Sizzix packaging and is the same color and design that is sold in stores. We recommend you read the included instructions before using the Texture Boutique and that you pass the same recommendation on to customers who purchase it.

'Tis the season of giving, and the Texture Boutique makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to create their own elegant embossed art. To help you with your gift-giving needs, we're offering a special value bundle that saves you $5.90. If you prefer, you can also purchase the Texture Boutique alone. Looking for stocking stuffers? Pick up some additional embossing folders.

Give Thanks Friday Mashup 85

Are you ready to see how I used the leaves that I showed you how to make yesterday? If you missed it you can find the tutorial HERE. Take a look at my card!

  • Stamps: Hand-Penned Holidays, Woodgrain, French Foliage
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Versamark
  • Accessories: Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Antique Brads, Autumn Accents Die, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, Crop-A-Dile, leaves from yesterday’s tutorial

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project with "Leaves".
  2. Or Make a project saying "Thank You".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You project with Leaves".

I started off by cutting a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored it at 4-1/4”. Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock 3-1/8” x 4-3/8”. I stamped the water spots from French Foliage onto the card stock in Crumb Cake ink. Then I stamped the greeting from Hand-Penned Holidays (retired) onto the top of the card stock in Versamark ink, covered with gold embossing powder, and heated with the heat tool until the image was shiny.

I adhered the stamped Very Vanilla card stock onto a 3-1/4” x 4-1/2” piece of Early Espresso card stock. I cut a length of Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, wrapped it around the bottom of the panel and tied it into a bow. I cut one small leaf from Champagne Glimmer Paper with the Autumn Accents die. Then I adhered my leaves together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and adhered the leaves onto the card front with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole through the bottom of the leaves and the panel. Then I took an Antique Brad and spread the prongs really wide, I placed the prongs of the brad on either side of the knot in the bow and through the hole in the card stock before spreading the prongs. Then I adhered the panel onto the card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The finished result… a pretty fall card. What do you think?

Fall Leaves Tutorial

Today I have a quick tutorial to show you how to make some real-looking fall leaves. Take a look!

  •  Card Stock: Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, So Saffron
  • Ink: Real Red, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
  • Accessories: Autumn Accents Die, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Sponge, Gold Smooch Spritz, Water Mister

I started off by cutting out one leaf in Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, and So Saffron.

Sponge the So Saffron leaf first with Daffodil Delight, then with Pumpkin Pie. Now take the pumpkin Pie ink pad and tap it lightly on top of the leaf. Do the same on the More Mustard leaf by sponging with Pumpkin Pie then Cajun Craze and tapping Cajun Craze ink on the leaf. Do the same on the Pumpkin Pie leaf by sponging with Cajun Craze then Real Red and tapping Real Red ink on the leaf.

Here you can see the leaves sponged around the edges with the two colors.

Now here they are after you've tapped the ink pad lightly on top of the leaf. It creates a splotchy look.

Now fold your leaf in half.

Place your leaves in the Woodgrain embossing folder at an angle.

Then run it through the Big Shot and un-fold your leaves.

Sponge the leaves lightly with Early Espresso ink, just to bring out the textured veins.

Mist your leaves with water and wad them up into a small ball.

Un-fold your leaves almost all the way and let them dry. You may have some that tear, that’s okay.

Now spritz your leaves with Gold Smooch Spritz.

Now you have some realistic and slightly sparkly leaves to use on your next fall project! Come back tomorrow to see the card that I used them on!
