This is the first Make and Take from the workshop in May. It is a simple and fun card to make. Take a look:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso
Markers: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Peach Parfait
Accessories: water misting bottle, 5/8” Daffodil Delight Grosgrain ribbon.
The card base is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. A piece of Certainly Celery cardstock was cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. A piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”. The images were stamped using a technique I like to call Faux Watercolor. This technique has been around for a while and it’s super easy to do.
The Inspired by Nature stamp was colored with markers right on the rubber. Old Olive for the stems and leaves, Daffodil Delight with Peach Parfait shadows for the center of the flower, and Pretty and Pink with Rose Red shadows for the flower petals. After the stamp image is completely inked up with markers hold the stamp up and away from your work area. Spray the stamp with a fine misting water bottle two to three times, then stamp your image onto the cardstock. The misted water really gives the ink from the markers a water-colored look and blends the colors together well.
The greeting was stamped in Early Espresso ink. The stamped Whisper White cardstock was adhered to the Certainly Celery cardstock. A piece of 5/8” Daffodil Delight Grosgrain ribbon was tied around the bottom of the panel and into a knot. Then this panel was adhered to the card front.
So super easy! I hope you give this technique a try sometime.
