Happy Veterans Day!

First I would like to thank all of the soldiers and their families that have served and are serving to protect our country!

Please take the time today to thank a veteran or someone serving in the military. The efforts and sacrifice of soldiers and their families is what keeps our country free. So please, whether you agree with the current military situation or not, thank those who fight to protect us and keep us free.

Here is a photograph of just a very small portion of the Veteran's Administration Cemetary in Leavenworth Kansas. If you have a chance to go to the cemetary you will see grave stones that seem to contine on forever. All those soldiers that have helped to keep us free. Many graves at this particular cemetary date back into the 1800s.

I don't know if this photo was taken at the VA cemetary or not, but it is a beautiful photo that reminds us that freedom is not free.

For those of you who would like to learn more about how Veterans Day became a holiday can find the history and significance of the date HERE.

I will be celebrating part of my day at the Leavenworth Kansas Veterans Day Parade. Leavenworth is hosting the 92nd Veterans Day Parade in downtown Leavenworth. The parade will begin at 10:30am and will be featuring 196 entries in the parade line up. There will also be a pause in the parade at 11:00 for the playing of TAPS and a fly over from the Iowa National Guard.

It really is a fantasic parade to see! So if you live in the area and are able to come it would be well worth it!

Thanks again to all of the soldiers and their families who have served and are serving in the military!
