Here is the second card that my guests made at the Cupcake Card Class. This class truly was ALL about cupcakes! This card was inspired by a creation by Illina Crouse. You can find her card and her blog HERE.
Stamps: Create A Cupcake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Springtime DSP
Ink: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Early Espresso
Accessories: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Build A Cupcake punch, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Folder, 1 ¾” x 7/8” Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”. A scrap piece of Marina Mist cardstock was cut 4 ¼” wide and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch was used to punch out two Marina Mist ribbons. A piece of DSP was cut at 1 ½” x 4 ¼”. The Marina Mist ribbons were adhered just behind the edge of the DSP on both long sides so all you see is the dotted scallops. This layer was then adhered to the card front.
The bottom of the card front was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch just on the bottom. Then the card front was run through the Big Shot in the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Folder. Since we added the DSP and trim before running the card front through the folder the texture is not only on the Crumb Cake card base but also on the DSP. A piece of Early Espresso cardstock was cut at 1” x 4 ¼” and adhered behind the card front at the bottom to make the scalloped edge stand out more.
The greeting from Create A Cupcake was stamped in Early Espresso ink all the way to the left and just above the DSP panel. The cupcake pieces were stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The cupcake bottom was stamped in Crumb Cake with an Early Espresso ribbon around it. The cupcake top was stamped in Marina Mist with Early Espresso sprinkles. The cupcake pieces were punched out with the Build A Cupcake punch.
The Decorative Label Punch was used on a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock and the 1 ¾” x 7/8” Oval Punch was used on a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock. The Crumb Cake oval was adhered to the Early Espresso Decorative Label. The label was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then the cupcake bottom and cupcake top were both adhered to the label with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
It really threw everyone for a loop that you would add the DSP before running it through the Big Shot, but everyone figured it out and were really pleased with the results. I just love sharing new techniques and different ways for using Stampin’ Up products!
