This beautiful card was
inspired by THIS card created by Margaret. I’m not exactly sure how Margaret created her
card, but this is how I made mine.
- Stamps: Daydream Medallions, Loving Thoughts
- Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green
- Ink: Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke
- Accessories: Floral Frames Framelits, Autumn Accents Die, Square Lattice embossing folder, Brights Buttons (retired), Whisper White organza ribbon, Oval Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Stamping Sponge, 2-1/2” Circle Punch
Cut a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and run it through the Big Shot with the largest Floral Frames Framelit. Stamp the smallest image from Daydream Medallions onto each petal of the large flower shape in Daffodil Delight ink. Sponge around the edges of both flowers with Daffodil Delight ink.
Use the 2-1/2” Circle punch on a scrap of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Run the circle through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder. Sponge Chocolate Chip ink all over the textured circle.
Use the Oval punch on a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock. Fold the oval in half and apply Sticky Strip on each side of the oval. Remove the Sticky Strip liner and adhere the oval so the fold is as close to the top of one of the petals on the smaller flower.
Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the other half of the oval and adhere this layer on top of the larger flower shape.
Adhere the textured circle into the center of the smaller flower.
Take two 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" pieces of Gumball Green card stock and cut out the leaf from the Autumn Accents die in the Big Shot. Sponge the edges of the leaves with Always Artichoke ink. Adhere the leaves onto the back of the large flower.
Stamp the greeting from Sweet Essentials onto a 1/2" x 3-1/4" strip of Very Vanilla card stock in Chocolate Chip ink. Cut one end of the strip into a banner shape with Paper Snips. Trim down the banner to the length that you want it. Sponge around the edges of the banner in Chocolate Chip ink. Adhere the banner onto the top flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Insert a 3” long piece of baker’s twine through the Brights Collection button holes and tie it into a knot. Trim the baker’s twine ends. Adhere the button on top of the end of the banner with a Glue Dot.
Tie a bow in Whisper White Organza Ribbon and adhere the bow onto the flower with a Glue Dot.
Now your beautiful sunflower card is finished! Although this card is too large to fit inside a standard envelope you could easily make a custom envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and some fun DSP.
