Last Monday's Sketch Challenge

This card was created for the sketch challenge SCCSC58 on Stampin’ Connection. This week’s sketch was created by Susie Nelson. Here it is:

And here is my card:

Stamps: Thanks for Caring, Bring on the Cake, Vintage Vogue
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
DSP: Raspberry Tart DSP (Retired)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Folder, Petal Cone Die, Paper Snips, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Pink Pirouette Marker, Two-Way Glue Pen

The card base is Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. The card front was run through the Big Shot in the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Folder. A piece of Raspberry Tart DSP (retired) was cut at 2 1/8” x 5 ½” and was adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock cut at 2 ½” x 5 ½”. This panel was then adhered to the card front.

I used a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock to cut out the banner from the Petal Cone Die. Then I stamped the flourish from Vintage Vogue in Pink Pirouette ink to create a background and stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Melon Mambo ink. One end of the banner was folded over so that it was short enough to fit on the card front. Then the banner was adhered to the card with three Mini Glue Dots so that the banner is wavy and stands up off the card in places.

Next I stamped the butterfly from Thanks for Caring in Rich Razzleberry ink on scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The butterfly was colored in with the Pink Pirouette marker, cut out with paper snips, and then sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to add a little bit of sparkle. Then the butterfly was adhered to the card front with the Two-Way Glue Pen.

That’s it for this wonderfully simple sketch! Thank you Susie!

Please post a link to your card in the comments section of this post. I hope you get a chance to play along! Later today I will share with you the main reason why I haven’t been posting much lately. You’ll want to come back to take a look! Also a little later I will have this week’s sketch challenge for you. Have fun stamping!
