Chocolate and Pink

This is a card similar to the one I made for My sister's graduation card. I used Stampin Up (SU) Chocolate Chip cardstock with Raspberry Tart and Bella Rose SU patterned Paper. I used the Nesties Labels 2 dies to cut out the Chocolate Chip and White cardstock. I then sponged the white cardstock with Pink Pirouette, Positively Pink, and Riding Hood Red SU inks. The Heidi Grace Dreamer stamp set in Positively Pink, Riding Hood Red, and Chocolate Chip inks. I then finished it off with some misc pink and brown striped ribbon and a silver buckle embellishment from the SU Hodgepodge Hardware kit.

Papertrey Ink Cards

My sister Kelly and I got together this last weekend and made a few cards in her craft room. The three below are the cards I made and supplies are listed. My sister, mother, and I are all creative and like to make cards among other things and any chance we get to craft together we really enjoy. Its fun just creating on your own, but its more fun when you have people to talk to and share with.

This card was created using Miscellaneous Black and Rust-colored card stock. The patterned paper and rust cardstock is inked on the edges with Tea Stain distress inks. I stamped the PTI Tea for Two image in PTI Pure Poppy ink and the outline in True Black. The sentiment is stamped in Pure Poppy and some misc. satin red ribbon was added as the finishing touch.
On this card I used the PTI Damask Designs images to stamp the Lemon Tart cardstock and White cardstock with PTI Lemon Tart ink. I used Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, and White for the matting with the Nestabilities Labels 2 dies. Some Summer Sunrise grosgrain ribbon with a yellow flower, white flower, and gemstone brad finish it off.
This card was created using Papertrey Ink (PTI) dark chocolate and white cardstock. The polka dot paper is from PTI Bitty Dot Basics (this sheet is Aqua Mist I believe). The images from the PTI Wishing You... set were stamped in True Black, Dark Chocolate, and Smokey Shadow. Some Diamond Stickle were used on the dragonflies and their trails to make them sparkle. I used a corner rounder punch on the sentiment and mat and then mounted it with two silver colored brads.

Copper Plant Hangers

I made several of these for mother's day a few weeks ago. One each for my mom and grandma and one each for my husband's mom and grandma. I have two more to make but I don't want to mention who in case they decide to read this blog. Each one was made in the recipient's favorite color. The one pictured above I made for me and since my favorite color is blue I made the butterfly and painted the pot blue. The ring is just 5/8" flexible copper pipe that is soldered into a ring with a coupling. I used copper wire that I twisted to make the pot hanger and the hook that it's hanging from (you can't see it in these pictures). The butterfly is made out of fused glass and the butterfly body is made with beads that are wired on. I am soooooo pleased with how these all turned out. I like them very much. The plant inside the pot is called Diamond Frost and is a full-sun plant that gets very, very fluffy by the end of the summer. My sister wants me to make one for her in pink. I will have to see if I can make time to do that.

Craft Room In Progress

In the last photo you can see my very messy and cluttered temporary crafting and work area. On the right and in the container on the floor are my stamps, ink, and tools needed for making cards. Piled on the left end of the table are all my textbooks, all but one of which were used for last semester and could be put somewhere else I suppose. The first two pictures are of what is supposed to be my craft room. Right now it is just sheetrock and in the middle you can see the custom craft island that my husband build me. I will provide better pictures of it when the room is finished and it isn't covered in sheetrock dust. I can't wait for it to be finished!

First Post

This is my very first post on my first blog. I have decided to begin a blog to show some of my projects and creations to those who are interested in looking. I have found myself periodically checking my sisters blog (Kelly's Craft Room) frequently to see the neat things that she has made lately. I don't have any pictures or projects to post at the bottom because I am still figuring out how to get everything set up and haven't had a chance to take pictures yet. I promise to post some soon though. Right now it is difficult to make anything since my craft room is unusable due to remodeling. It will be worth it though because my new craft room will have lots of light, be bigger than before, and have all of my creative supplies in one room.

You will soon find that I have many interests. I love crafting in general and usually can't stick to one type or another. So far the list includes scrapbooking, cardmaking, jewelry making, stamping, cross stitch, crochet, stained glass, fused glass, and I've recently started dabbling in lampworking. I will post more later today with some pictures of my destroyed craft room and my current limited workspace. Bye!
