Create

I had some fun with lots of layers on this card. I'm not sure who I will send it to or exactly what I will use it for, but it's cute! This also uses several retiring products. 

• Pool Party card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Pool Party Core'dinations 4" x 5-1/4"
• Stamps: Layered Labels
• Ink: Summer Starfruit, Pool Party
• Accessories: Honeycomb embossing folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Paper Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Dazzling Details, Sanding Block

Start off by folding the Pool Party card stock on the score line. Then run the Pool Party Core'dinations card stock through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb embossing folder. Take the sanding block and sand off some of the raised texture. I love the grungy distressed look that this gives. I sure will miss having the Core'dination card stock.

Next run the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit through the Big Shot with a scrap of Whisper White card stock. Take you Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, and Piercing Tool to add the piercing around the edge of the label.

Next take a scrap of DSP (I think this is some retired Sycamore Street DSP from last year) and cut it out with the next smaller Layered Labels Framelit. Now take the second from smallest Layered Labels framelit and use it on a scrap of Midnight Muse card stock. Finally stamp the create image onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Pool Party ink and cut it out with the smallest Layered Labels Framelit. Finally I stamped the create image again in Summer Starfruit ink and used a circle punch to punch out the center.

The labels were glued together with a combination of glue stick and Stampin' Dimensionals to make the labels pop up off the card front. Then the stack of labels were stuck onto the card front with a few Stampin' dimensionals. Finally I added some Dazzling Details around the edge of the Pool Party label just to add some sparkle.

For You

Oh my! This post has been sitting in the drafts folder since last summer. Well it's time to finish it up and share it with you. Albeit very late.  

• Pistachio Pudding card stock 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"
• Afternoon Picnic DSP 2-1/2" x 4"
• Wisteria Wonder card stock 3/4" x 4-1/4"
• Silver Glimmer Paper 1/8" x 4-1/4"
• Stamps: Chalk Talk
• Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit
• Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Start off by folding the Pistachio Pudding card stock on the score line. Glue the DSP onto the bottom of the card front with some Glue Stick. Next take the strip of Wisteria Wonder card stock and use the Scallop Edge punch on one long edge. Glue this right at the top of the DSP. Then glue this little strip of Glimmer Paper onto the Wisteria Wonder piece to add a little bit of sparkle.

Next up stamp the label image into the upper right hand corner of the card front in Pistachio Pudding ink. Stamp the "for you" image onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock in Summer Starfruit ink. Punch out the greeting with the 1-3/8" Circle punch and use a dimensional to stick it onto the card front.

Finally for just a little bit more sparkle add a couple Rhinestones onto either side of the stamped label. That's it! Simple and pretty!

A Sweet Bunny Banner

I follow a lot of craft blogs and they have some really adorable Easter decor projects up lately. Well I saw this super cute bunny banner at My Craftily Ever After where she made a knock off version of the Pottery Barn Kids banner. The moment I saw it I knew that I had to make one! 

So I went browsing through the Silhouette store and found this adorable bunny file. Once I got it into my Silhouette Designer software I removed the cut out for the tail, copied the image, and then edited it so both ears were straight on one, then left another with the bent ear. 

I cut out eleven bunnies from several different patterns of Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-A-Bration. Then I also cut out eleven bunnies from Crumb Cake card stock. I used some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the DSP bunnies onto the card stock bunnies just to make them a little bit stronger. Then I hot glued each bunny onto three pieces of twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack. Next I hot glued on some cotton balls for the tails, tied the twine into a bow, and hung it up on my mantle! 

I think this project only took a little over an hour to make including altering the cut file. But it looks like you could just get this file and you wouldn't have to modify anything. So cute! Now I'm all decked out for Easter!

I was just playing around with a few scraps on my table and put this lovely together in just a few minutes. I kinda went crazy with the arrows, but it's still cute. Even with the crooked greeting...

• Crumb Cake card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
• Card stock scraps: Coastal Cabana, So Saffron
• DSP: Retro Fresh
• Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Express Yourself
• Ink: Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso
• Accessories: Arrows embossing folder, Deco Labels Framelits, Label Card Thinlits, Chevron Ribbon, Silver Glimmer Paper, 2-Way Glue Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

To make this lovely start off by folding the Crumb Cake card stock on the score line. Then run it through the Big Shot in the Arrows embossing folder. Now wrap a piece of Chevron Ribbon around the card front and tie it into a knot. 

Take a scrap of Coastal Cabana card stock and run it through the Big Shot with the 2nd from smallest Deco Labels Framelits. Stamp the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge onto the label twice in Coastal Cabana ink. Then run this panel through the Big Shot again with the arrow framelit from the Label Card Thinlit set. Stamp "bravo!" from Express Yourself onto the label in Early Espresso ink.

Take a scrap of Retro Fresh DSP and glue it onto the card front with some glue stick. The piece just has to be big enough to cover the die cut arrow completely. Now stick the label onto the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals so the patterned paper is inside the arrow window. 

Now use the framelits to cut two more arrows, one from a scrap of So Saffron card stock and one from Silver Glimmer Paper to add some sparkle. Glue those arrows on pointing toward the greeting with some 2-Way Glue Pen. 

That's it! Super fun and simple!

A Simple Happy Birthday

Today I want to share the birthday card I made for my Dad. I was procrastinating as usual so I needed to make him a quick birthday card just a couple hours before actually going to the party. Nothing like planning ahead right??? So this big bold image from Another Great Year came to my rescue for this simple yet beautiful/manly birthday card! 

• Bermuda Bay card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Crushed Curry card stock 3-1/2" x 4-3/4"
• Whisper White card stock 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
• Stamps: Another Great Year
• Ink: Versamark
• Markers: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Blender Pen
• Accessories: Gold embossing powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Start off as always by folding the Bermuda Bay card stock on the score line. Now take the Whisper White card stock and rub your Embossing Buddy over the entire piece. Now stamp the big image from Another Great Year onto the card stock in Versamark ink. Cover the stamped image with gold embossing powder, tap off the excess, and heat with your Heat Tool until it's nice and shiny.

Then take your Bermuda Bay marker to color in the banners. Color in the letters on the banners with the Crushed Curry marker. Then add some shadow to the banners by going over the ends again with the Bermuda Bay marker a couple times to make the ends darker.

Now simply glue the greeting piece onto the Crushed Curry card stock then stick the panel onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

On the inside I stamped another greeting from Another Great Year in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with more gold embossing powder.

So simple, yet so much fun! I love how heat embossing adds a nice pop and shine to card!

Butterfly Convention Swaps

I just realized that I never got around to posting my swaps from the Stampin' Up! convention last July. These were very popular. I made 75 of them and they were all gone by the second day. So, almost a year later....

• Soft Suede card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Early Espresso card stock 3-1/8" x 4-3/8"
• Whisper White card stock 3" x 4-1/4"
• Soft Sky card stock 2-3/4" x 2-3/4"
• Stamps: Swallowtail, Papillion Potpourri, Loving Thoughts
• Ink: Soft Suede, Soft Sky, Stazon, Night of Navy
• Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Decorative Label Punch, White Organza Ribbon, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Paper Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Delicate Butterfly Punch, Sponge Daubers, Glue Dots

If you want to make this lovely start off by folding the Soft Suede card stock on the score line. Then stamp the En Francais background image onto the card front in Soft Suede ink. 

Now take your piece of Whisper White card stock and stamp the Swallowtail image onto it at an angle in Soft Sky ink. Stamp the greeting from Loving Thoughts onto the bottom of your butterfly panel in Night of Navy ink. Now use glue stick to glue your butterfly piece onto the Early Espresso card stock. 

Take your Decorative Label Punch and push the top of the card stock all the way into the punch as far as it can go, center the punch so the label is in the middle, and punch. It takes a little bit of effort to punch through both layers of card stock, but it's doable. 

Now take your Paper Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, and Stampin' Pierce Mat and add the piercing around the label cut out. 

Wrap a piece of Whisper White Organza ribbon around the panel just above the greeting and tie it into a knot. Next take your piece of Soft Sky card stock and use some glue stick to glue it onto the card front in the approximate location where your label window will be. Then stick your butterfly panel down onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. You want the Soft Sky card stock to be inside the label window. 

For the cute little butterfly stamp the image from Papillion Potpourri onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Stazon ink. Then take a couple sponge daubers and sponge Soft Sky ink working in a circular motion from the center outward. Now add some Night of Navy ink the same way, but don't cover up all the Soft Sky ink. Use your Delicate Butterfly Punch to punch the image out. Now curl the wings a little bit with your finger or by wrapping it around a pencil. Then glue the butterfly onto the card front with a Glue Dot. 

Finally, add some sparkle to the butterfly by scribbling on some Dazzling Details on the wings. Now you have a soft and pretty card that is sure to make someone feel wonderful!

So, even though it was nearly a year late, was it worth the wait? Is anyone else as behind on blog posts as I am? Sheesh... I feel like I'm slowly getting through the list of drafts. I am going to try to be completely caught up by April. That way I can share newer things with you faster!

Just Because Treat Box

This is the cute and fun little 3D project that my guests made at the March make and Take. I saw these cute little boxes over at Nikki's blog My Sandbox. Her boxes were so pretty and I initially intended on casing one of hers exactly. But then I decided that I wanted two different card stock colors on my box instead of just one. You know, something that pops out a little more. I got to the point you see below and I didn't want to cover it up with flowers. I thought it was just perfect as it is. 

So, in case you would like to make some cute little treat boxes the way I did here is a tutorial just for you! 

• Very Vanilla 2" x 8-1/4", scored at 1-3/4", 2-1/2", 5-3/4", 6-1/2"
• Strawberry Slush 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
• 5-1/2" side scored at: 1", 1-3/4", 3-3/4", 4-1/2"
• 4-1/4" side scored at: 1/2", 3-3/4"
• 14" Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon
• Stamps: Hardwood, Gorgeous Grunge, A Dozen Thoughts
• Ink: Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy
• Accessories: Sticky Strip, Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Paper Snips

Start off by cutting a piece of Very Vanilla card stock 2" x 8-1/4". Now with the 8-1/4" edge against the top of your Simply Scored and score at 1-3/4", 2-1/2", 5-3/4", 6-1/2". Stamp all over the card stock with the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge in Crushed Curry ink. Then take the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and punch each end of the card stock. 

Cut a piece of Strawberry Slush card stock 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". With the 5-1/2" edge against the top of your Simply Scored, score at 1", 1-3/4", 3-3/4", 4-1/2". 

Now turn the card stock so the 4-1/4" edge is against the top of your simply scored and score at 1/2" x 3-3/4". Stamp the card stock with the Hardwood background stamp in Strawberry Slush ink. 

Then take Paper Snips and trim as shown below. Add Sticky Strip onto the four small tabs as shown below.  

Also, if you want stamp the greeting from A Dozen Thoughts onto the narrow sections that the small tabs are extending from. Make sure the bottom of the greeting is facing toward the middle of the card stock. 

Use some glue stick to glue the center of the Strawberry Slush panel onto the center of the Very Vanilla piece as shown below. 

Remove the liner from the Sticky Strip on the four small tabs and press them onto the inside of the Very Vanilla card stock piece. 

 Add in two fun size candy bars.

Then just fold the Strawberry Slush flaps in followed by the Very Vanilla flaps. Use a piece of Midnight Muse Stitched Satin ribbon to tie the box closed.

Now you have a sweet little gift to brighten up someone's day!

This is a fun doodle I finished up last year (Thanksgiving actually) that I just realized I never photographed or posted. So here it is. Drawn with fine point sharpie and colored in with Tombow markers and an Aqua Painter. 

Love Banner

Here is a fun card I made a while back.. like before Valentine's Day. What can I say... I'm still getting caught up on posts. I just had an idea to create a heart banner and went with it! 

• Crumb Cake card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Sweet Sorbet DSP, Strawberry Slush DSP, Pool Party card stock, Whisper White card stock
• Stamps: Hardwood
• Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Versamark
• Accessories: Expressions Thinlits, Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Heat Tool, 2-Way Glue Pen, Trio Heart Punch (retired a long time ago), Small Heart Punch, Full Heart Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Glimmer Brads, Paper Piercing Tool

So I started off by folding the Crumb Cake card stock on the score line and stamping the fabulous Hardwood background image onto the card front with Baked Brown Sugar ink. Next I took a length of Whisper White Baker's Twine and tied a bow onto each end. I stuck this down at the top of the card front with a couple glue dots. I took the tip of my Paper Snips to fold the glue dots in half before putting them on the card so I wouldn't have a huge spot of exposed glue dot behind the cute bow. 

Next I used the Trio Heart Punch, which retired a long time ago but it's so cute I've hung onto it, to punch a bunch of hearts in DSP and Whisper White scraps. I also used the Small Heart Punch a couple times on Pool Party card stock and DSP. All the hearts were stuck onto the banner and card with some 2-Way Glue Pen. 

I punched a large heart with the Full Heart Punch from some Sweet Sorbet DSP and glued it down in the bottom right corner of the card. Next I cut the greeting from Crisp Cantaloupe card stock with the Expressions Thinlit die. I wanted my "love" to sparkle so I tapped the Versamark pad over the entire word, covered it with Heat & Stick Powder, heated it up with my Heat Tool, then dumped Dazzling Diamonds glitter onto it and heated it up just little more to set the glitter in the adhesive. Then I stuck the greeting onto the card front with more 2-Way Glue Pen.

I decided it needed something more so I used my Paper Piercing Tool to poke a couple holes above the bows of the banner and added a Glimmer Brad into each hole. So now it looks like I have two glimmery "nails" holding the banner up.

So cute and fun! 

Happy Flowers

This is a fun and cheery card that my guests made at the March Make and Take. I was really wishing hard for spring, so everything is pretty spring colors! This is also the last card from the March Make and Take. To see the other Make and Take projects just click on the Make & Take Projects button on my sidebar. 

• Daffodil Delight card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Crushed Curry card stock 3-3/4" x 5"
• Smoky Slate card stock 2-1/2" x 3-3/4"
• Whisper White card stock 2-3/8" x 3-5/8"
• 18" Strawberry Slush ribbon
• Stamps: Happy Watercolor
• Ink: Daffodil Delight, Stazon, Calypso Coral
• Markers: Gumball Green, Blender Pen
• Accessories: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Strawberry Slush Ruffle Stretch Trim

Okay, here we go! Fold the Daffodil Delight card stock on the score line. Then run the Crushed Curry card stock through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan embossing folder. Use some glue stick to glue this layer onto the card front. 

Now take the watercolor brushstroke type image from Happy Watercolor and stamp it onto the bottom of the Whisper White card stock in Daffodil Delight ink. Stamp the greeting on top of the brush stroke image in Stazon. Now stamp the flowers above the greeting in Stazon. 

With your Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral ink pads closed, squeeze the center of the ink pad, then open the ink pad half-way and use a Blender Pen to pick the ink up off the lid to color in your flowers. Use the Gumball Green marker to color in the flower stems. Use some more glue stick to glue the stamped Whisper White card stock onto the Smoky Slate card stock. Stick this layer onto the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals. Then simply take the Strawberry Slush ribbon, wrap it around the card front, and tie it into a knot. 

To make the inside a little pretty stamp the watercolor brushstroke image several times along the side in Daffodil Delight ink. Then stamp the dots image several times in Calypso Coral ink.

You're done! Now you can send someone a little happiness, sunshine, and spring wishes!

When Skies are Gray

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine... that's the rhyme I think of each time I see this stamp set. So I absolutely HAD to use it before the set retired! 

• Soft Sky card stock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
• Whisper White card stock 4" x 5-1/4"
• Eastern Elegance DSP 3/4" x 5-1/4"
• Smoky Slate Card Stock 2-3/4" x 3"

• 7" Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon

For this sweet card start off by folding the Soft Sky card stock on the score line. Take the large piece of Whisper White card stock and stamp the small dots image from Gorgeous Grunge all over in Soft Sky ink. I wanted it to mimic rain drops while adding some interest in the background. 

Next glue the Eastern Elegance DSP strip onto the left side of the Whisper White card stock with some glue stick. Then use wrap the ribbon around the card stock and use a few Glue Dots to hold the ribbon ends onto the back. Stick this layer onto the card front with some more glue stick. 

For the greeting color in the image with Crushed Curry and Basic Gray markers. Then grab your smaller piece of Whisper White card stock, breathe on the stamp to re-moisten the ink, and stamp the image onto the card stock. Take the label framelit from the Label Card Thinlit set to cut out the greeting. Then take the 2nd from smallest Labels framelit to cut out the Smoky Slate card stock. Use some glue stick to glue the labels together, then stick the label onto the card front with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now to add a little cute factor take the Whisper White baker's twine and thread it through a Soft Sky button and tie it into a bow. Stick the button onto the card front with a Stampin' Dimensional.

A really simple pattern on the inside of this one... just take the diagonal lines image from Gorgeous Grunge and stamp it three times in Soft Sky ink.

Now you can brighten up someone's day with this adorable card!

You're Lovely!

This lovely is another card from the March Make and Take. I really wanted to show off the pretty pattern from the Sweet Sorbet DSP pack from Sale-A-Bration. Pretty and simple! 

• Coastal Cabana card stock 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"
• Sweet Sorbet DSP 3" x 4"
• Summer Starfruit card stock 2-3/4", x 3-1/4"
• Whisper White card stock 2-3/4" x 3-1/4"
• 18" Crisp Cantaloupe twine
• Stamps: Peaceful Petals, You're Lovely
• Ink: Coastal Cabana
• Accessories: Deco Labels Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack, Beautifully Baroque embossing folder, 3/16" Corner Punch

Fold the Coastal Cabana card stock on the score line, then run the card front through the Big Shot in the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder. Take the 3/16" Corner punch and use it on just two of the corners on the DSP piece (top left and bottom left). Then glue the DSP onto the card front with some glue stick. 

Stamp the greeting from You're Lovely onto the Whisper White card stock in Coastal Cabana ink. Then run this piece through the Big Shot with the 2nd from smallest Deco Labels framelit. Also run the Summer Starfruit card stock through the Big Shot with the 3rd from smallest Deco Labels framelit. Then just use some Stampin' Dimensionals to stick the labels together and to stick the layered labels onto the card. Add a couple Rhinestones on either side of the greeting label just to give it a little sparkle. 

Finish it up by wrapping the Crisp Cantaloupe twine around the card front and tie it into a bow.

To dress up the inside a little take the image from Peaceful Petals and stamp it several times across the bottom in Coastal Cabana ink. Done! That's it!
